A study by the Georgia Institute of Technology, published in the journal Indoor Air, is the first to comprehensively measure particle concentrations likely to be encountered by passengers from terminal to terminal. It found that airplane cabins are the cleanest, while restaurants have the highest levels of aerosol particles.

Contrary to popular belief, the indoor space with the lowest levels of particulate pollution is actually inside a plane cabin at cruising altitude.

The legislature’s Education and Cultural Affairs Committee met this morning to discuss a proposed bill which aims to improve air quality and ventilation in Maine public schools.
