🌕🔴 Blood Moon – September 7, 2025 🔴🌕

On the night of September 7, 2025, the sky will host one of the most breathtaking celestial shows of the year: a Total Lunar Eclipse, also known as the Blood Moon.

✨ Why does it turn red?
During a total lunar eclipse, Earth moves directly between the Sun and the Moon. Sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere scatters — the shorter blue wavelengths are filtered out, while the longer red and orange wavelengths bend around the Earth and illuminate the Moon. This creates the eerie crimson glow we call the Blood Moon.

📍 How to Watch:
• Look toward the eastern horizon after sunset.
• The eclipse is visible to the naked eye — no special glasses are needed.
• For the best experience, find a location away from city lights.

📸 Photography Tips:
• Use a tripod for stability.
• Adjust exposure: 0.5–2 seconds for sharp details.
• Include silhouettes of landscapes, trees, or buildings for dramatic effect.
• Try different focal lengths (wide-angle for landscapes, telephoto for close-ups).

🌍 Fun Fact:
While often associated with mystery and myths throughout history, a Blood Moon is simply a beautiful natural consequence of orbital mechanics and Earth’s atmosphere.

👉 Don’t miss this chance to witness the Moon bathed in haunting red light — a spectacle that won’t return until the next eclipse cycle!

The days are getting shorter, and milkweed pods are forming. While we're still enjoying what's left of the summer, fall is on the horizon.

That means that soon, monarchs will be heading to their overwintering habitats. Starting in about mid-August, emerging monarchs enter reproductive diapause, meaning they don't reproduce. Instead, they take flight in search of their overwintering grounds. From across the eastern U.S. and southern Canada, monarchs funnel toward Mexico, pausing for refuge at stopover sites with abundant nectar sources and shelter from harsh weather.

West of the Rocky Mountains, monarchs head for the California coastline, where they'll roost for the winter in eucalyptus, Monterey cypress, Monterey pine, and other trees.

When the calendar turns to 2026 and we start thinking about spring again, these same monarchs, sometimes called the super generation, will be the ones to start next year's migration.

🚀✨ Mark Your Calendar: Black Moon – August 22–23, 2025 ✨🌑

This summer, the skies will turn darker than ever — the Black Moon is coming.
A Black Moon is the rare second New Moon in a single calendar month, and it brings with it the darkest nights of the year. With no lunar glow to wash out the heavens, stargazers will witness the Milky Way, faint constellations, and even distant galaxies in stunning clarity.

🌌 What to Expect:

Unparalleled stargazing — perfect for astrophotography

The Milky Way at its brightest

A rare chance to experience the deepest cosmic darkness

📅 When: August 22–23, 2025
🌍 Where: Visible worldwide — best seen from dark-sky locations far from city lights

For thousands of years, civilizations looked to the Moon to mark time, celebrate harvests, and read the rhythms of nature. The Black Moon, shrouded in mystery, was often seen as a time of renewal, reflection, and hidden power.

✨ This August, step outside, look up, and let the silence of the cosmos remind you of just how infinite our universe truly is.

Explorer Review;

“Just wanted to share how much we loved our recent stay! The campground was fantastic – perfectly located, so close to the Falls! We had a blast exploring the area, doing some awesome hikes and soaking up the beauty of the country.
The Shannon and Trevor are such genuinely friendly and helpful people, you can tell they've poured their hearts into building this place. Our campsite was great, with brand new chairs, a picnic table, umbrella, and a firepit! It’s going to be even more stunning once the landscaping grows in a bit.
The sites are paved, which was nice, although some leveling pads might be a good idea for RVs – we were fine, but it was pretty close. There's even a lovely hiking trail right on the property, perfect for a morning walk.
We'd absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend this place.
Mark and Becky.”

Thank you both so much.
We look forward to seeing you again.
