Just a heads up if y’all didn’t hear...Folks from out of state please stay home. Maryland law enforcement is writing tickets for those showing up from out of state.
Don’t get me wrong here. I’m all about trying to slow the spread of this virus, but something doesn’t make sense here.
Here’s what you need to know to not get a ticket.
If you do live ANYPLACE in Maryland you may travel up here and can take a chance on spreading or contracting germs ONLY if you fish a put and take trout stream which currently have a good bit more human traffic, especially since all who want to fish for trout are consolidated on these specific waters now instead of allowing anglers to stay spread out across all our hundreds of miles of trout waters.
If hiking into remote catch and release water with nobody within a mile or more is such a big deal then just close ALL fishing. I understand what the idea is all about, but this makes no sense. I can chance spreading or contracting the virus if I’m fishing for sustenance? Why, if I want to fish, do I have to go fish much closer to other humans than I ever would if I could fish where I want to? And oh yea...the early spring fishing on this particular day was soooo good...the and were strong this day and the fishing was terrific.
