🏰 Post Tour

Post-Trip Adventure: Scotland! After wrapping up our Ireland adventure, several of us weren’t quite ready to head home—so we hopped over to Scotland for a post-trip tour that absolutely delivered! ✈️ We started with a short flight from Dublin to Edinburgh and hit the ground running. After settling in, we explored the city on our own, then regrouped that evening for a cozy welcome dinner, complete with a whisky tasting and more local wandering. 🥂

Tuesday kicked off with a fantastic walking tour of Edinburgh—including a stop at the iconic Edinburgh Castle, which did not disappoint. 🏰 After that, the next few days were all about freedom and flexibility—one of the great perks of adding on extra days!

Everyone did their own thing, and it was so fun to see all the different ways people explored the city and beyond:

✨ Some joined a delicious food tour through Edinburgh
🚌 Others did the classic hop-on-hop-off bus to soak up the sights
👑 A few visited Holyrood Palace
🚂 A group took the train to St. Andrews for a day trip
🎼 And several ended their last night at a magical organ concert in the stunning St. Giles’ Cathedral

There was lots of walking, plenty of shopping, and even more eating at local restaurants, cafés, and pubs. 🍽️🛍️👟

One of the best things about traveling with us? You can always customize your experience—add days on the front or back end of your trip to make it your own. Scotland was the perfect way to cap off our time abroad!

🥃🏰 From Whiskey Heritage to Castle Dreams. The true magic came as we arrived at Cabra Castle, nestled in the rolling countryside of County Cavan. This place feels like something out of a fairytale — ivy-clad towers, regal halls, and sweeping grounds that whisper of centuries past. Whether wandering its quiet corridors or gazing out over the manicured gardens, every moment felt like stepping back in time. 🕰️🌿

Tonight was made even more special as we celebrated a 60th birthday fit for royalty — our wonderful travel companion got to mark her milestone surrounded by new friends, laughter, and the enchanting backdrop of a real Irish castle. Truly, a celebration worthy of a queen! 👑🎉

We ended the evening with an elegant farewell dinner beneath glittering chandeliers, toasting to unforgettable memories, magical places, and the joy of shared adventures. 💫🍽️

This also marked the final night of our official Shades of Ireland tour, and what a journey it’s been! Over these past days, we’ve not only discovered the beauty and soul of Ireland — we’ve discovered new friendships, shared so many laughs, and created memories that will last a lifetime. 🌍❤️

Tomorrow, our group parts ways — some heading home with Brooklyn and Garrett, while others continue the adventure to Scotland with Kim and Kenny. No matter where we go next, we leave with full hearts, grateful spirits, and a reminder of just how powerfully travel brings people together. ✈️🤝

🇮🇪 Day Eight | 07.13.2025

🥃Today’s journey led us deep into Ireland’s whiskey heartland, where we explored the storied Kilbeggan Distillery — one of the oldest licensed distilleries in the world! We stepped behind the scenes of traditional whiskey-making and, of course, got to sample the golden spirit that’s been crafted here for centuries. Sláinte! 🥃🇮🇪

📍Limerick and Galway, Ireland
🇮🇪 Day Seven | 07.12.2025

🐶🪨A Day of Wild Beauty & Irish Charm! Today’s adventure took us through the windswept, limestone landscape of the Burren, a region as stark as it is stunning — rich in ancient history and dotted with mysterious Neolithic tombs.

We had the unique joy of watching border collies in action during a traditional sheepdog demonstration — a true highlight that gave us a glimpse into Irish rural life and the incredible bond between shepherd and dog 🐑🐾

From there, we made our way to the vibrant streets of Galway, known as “The City of Tribes.” After a quick guided tour, we had time to explore on foot — enjoying the colorful shops, charming cafes, and lively atmosphere that make Galway so unforgettable 💫🛍️

We wrapped up the day back in Limerick, where we kicked back and relaxed over a delicious dinner at our fabulous hotel, The George. What a perfect way to end another incredible day on this unforgettable journey with Collette! 🥂

🌎🖼️As we made our way toward Limerick, our amazing Collette tour guide, Jon — who’s been with us since we’ve landed — gave us a delightful introduction to what a limerick actually is and how it all began.

🧑🏻‍🎨 📠Inspired by the moment, our very own Annette surprised us all by creating one of her own and sharing it with the group. It was such a fun and heartfelt reflection of our journey together:

“There was a girl named Annette
Who took a trip with Collette
They travelled around
Then put their feet on the ground
Now she is blessed by the people she met.”

🤟We may begin this journey as strangers, but by the end, we become family. There’s something so special about group travel!

📍Limerick, Ireland
🇮🇪 Day Six | 07.11.2025

Today we were absolutely blown away (literally, not physically🤪🙌🏻) by the dramatic Cliffs of Moher 🏞️, soaring 700 feet above the Atlantic 🌊.

Next, we made our way to Limerick 🏰, where we explored the city on a panoramic tour 🚌 that took us past King John’s Castle and the Treaty Stone. We dove into the rich and sometimes somber history of this place, known as the “city of the violated treaty.”

To end the day, we traveled back in time for a medieval banquet at the beautiful Bunratty Castle 🏰. The highlight? Our very own Deb and Ray 👑 were chosen to be the Lord and Lady of the Banquet! We enjoyed a delicious feast, sipped on wine and mead, and were treated to an incredible performance filled with music, laughter, and medieval flair.

📍Killarney, Ireland
🇮🇪 Day Five | 07.10.2025

Rugged Roads & Irish Rhythms. Today was a picture-perfect journey around the world-famous Ring of Kerry — a loop of jaw-dropping coastal views, peaceful villages, and rolling green landscapes that felt like a living postcard. 🌊🌿⛰️

We made a stop at the beautiful Gap of Dunloe, where many of us found unique artisan-made treasures — handcrafted pieces that will always remind us of this magical corner of Ireland. 🛍️✨

As the sun set, we embraced the spirit of the evening with a bit of spontaneous Irish fun! We found a cozy local pub, filled with the sounds of live Irish music, and couldn’t help but jump in — swing dancing, laughing, and soaking up every second. 🎶🕺💃

And yes… we finally got to try the legendary Murphy’s Ice Cream — our guide swore it was the best in all of Ireland, and we have to agree. Creamy, flavorful, and the perfect end to a perfect day. 🍦💚

🇮🇪 Day Four | 07.09.2025

🍀 Blarney, Beauty, and a Bit of Boogie! Today we took on one of Ireland’s most iconic legends — kissing the Blarney Stone!

🪨💋 After climbing 128 narrow steps to the top of the historic Blarney Castle, a few brave souls tried their luck at gaining the “gift of eloquence” (we’ll see if it worked soon enough!).

From there, we made our way into the stunning County Kerry and arrived in charming Killarney. The highlight? A scenic jaunting car ride through Killarney National Park 🐴🌲

Dinner was Diner’s Choice tonight, with everyone picking from a selection of top-notch local restaurants. No wrong answers when you’re eating in Killarney! 🍽️❤️

To cap off the night, we were treated to a high-energy performance of traditional Gaelic dancing. 💃🎶 The music, the rhythm, the energy — pure magic.

📍Kilkenny and Waterford, Ireland
🇮🇪 Day Three | 07.08.2025

Tuesday, we stepped back in time and soaked in the charm of medieval Ireland! 🏰✨

Our day began in Kilkenny, a 12th-century gem nestled along the River Nore, where cobbled streets and timeless architecture transported us to another era.

Next, we made our way to Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city, for a leisurely walking tour full of history and character. Then it was time to choose our own adventure! Some of us toured the House of Waterford Crystal and watched master craftsmen bring sparkling creations to life 💎, while others explored the Medieval Museum, topped off with a glass of wine in the stunning 15th-century Mayor’s Wine Vault. 🍷

That night, we rested our heads at the charming Granville Hotel in Waterford – full of character and classic Irish hospitality. 🛏️🇮🇪

Another magical day in Ireland with memories we’ll never forget! 💚
