I made so much jam this summer that I thought it would be fun to share with our guests at the cabin! We have a few jars left (and a couple of weekends available in October!). This is the second summer my mom and I have owned the cabin and also the second season for Apricity acres. If you have been to Tieton you know it can get really windy and this year the wind was brutal the week before the apricots were ripe so much of the fruit fell to the ground or got bruised. So that meant I had to buy a massive box of apricots that were perfect for jam! I decided I wanted to make a special label for the batch so I painted a little gouache painting and made some labels using illustrator and turned the painting into Tieton postcards you can send your friends.

For the longest time I thought Apricity was short for Apricot City but I learned that the word Apricity (uh-PRIS-uh-tee) actually means the warmth of the sun in the winter 🧡 Thanks farmer Sarah for all of the beautiful things you grow and share!

Happy St Patrick’s Day! 🌈Today marks two special occasions. This is the day my dear friend introduced me to my lucky ☘️Jake, 31 years ago at the . And one year ago today my mom and I rolled the dice and decided to buy this little place in Tieton together. 👯‍♀️It has turned out to be the best thing for us. We have loved figuring it all out together and it’s been fun discovering and uncovering our own connection to Tieton 🎳 It’s been pure magic meeting and being a part of this wonderful little community!

Tieton will be aglow with🌞 light and 🌈🌈rainbows this Friday night as we celebrate the spring equinox with music, art and community at the Mighty Tieton. The show features two amazing musicians. Portland musician and artist Larry Yes, and Yakima musician, Fiona Monahan! Doors open at 5:30PM and you will want to get there early for the fun pre-show experience. Tieton’s own DJ Nick Fenton will be spinning groovy tunes all night and Sound artist Trimpin will be on hand to share some spring surprises in the sound stage! . . Early bird tix and selling fast and we want to sell out this show!! ALL proceeds benefit Tieton Arts Humanities and Seasons Music Project. These organizations help make art events possible in the Yakima Valley and they need our support now more than ever! So please show your ❤️ for the arts and get your tickets.
