It was an honor to attend and cover the Victory Town Mayors’ Reception at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, PA, celebrating the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route and the 300th birthday month of General Comte de Rochambeau.

According to Lawrence Abell, Washington Rochambeau Revolutionary Route Association - W3R Chairman, "Philadelphia is the largest city of the 700-mile-long trail taken by American and French forces headed to Yorktown, VA, to win the decisive battle of the American Revolution. It is therefore fitting that Philadelphia is the site of the celebration of General Rochambeau's 300th birthday and tribute to the 200 cities and towns that witnessed the march to and from this momentous battle that made our nation possible."

The evening featured period music by Practitioners of Musick, leaders from Philadelphia 2026, the Museum of the American Revolution, National Park Service, Elected Officials from various Victory Towns, French & American National Anthems, Award Presentations, and an address by Brigadier General Vincent de Kytspotter, Head of the French Defense Mission to the United Nations. The evening concluded with a rendezvous between General Rochambeau and the Marquis de Lafayette in the historic Old City of Philadelphia.
