Light Up Troy Holiday Competition & Charitable Fundraiser Welcome to the home of 'Light Up Troy' - a friendly holiday spirit competition and fundraiser! Here Entry is simple. But there is more. Which charity?

Troy is a beautiful and robust City, full of historic landmarks and rich culture. Often, we get so caught up with our day to day lives that we do not stop to appreciate how the people of Troy contribute to that history and culture. Starting on November 27th, 2020, the first-ever Light Up Troy contest and charitable fundraiser will begin. This annual competition will jumpstart the holiday spirit in

the Collar City, encouraging residents to decorate their homes and give to a local charity. Share your pictures on this page between November 27th and December 22nd. Make sure you identify which District you are from. The winner will be chosen by a vote of the City Council and Mayor and crowned on Christmas Eve. The winner will also receive a free family dinner courtesy of Jimmy’s Pizza, and a plaque to commemorate their achievement. In keeping up with the spirit of giving this season, we will be holding a GoFundMe fundraiser to benefit a local Troy charity. The winner of the holiday competition gets to choose. We have received the official vote tallies from City Council. The City Council had roughly 20 submissions to choose from, including three video submissions from all different districts.

Winning 50% of the total votes cast, congratulations to this house in District 2 for winning the first-ever Light Up Troy Holiday Competition & Charitable Fundraiser.

The winner has chosen the START Children's Center as their charitable organization to receive all of the donations.

They have also chosen to donate their pizza dinner to the Troy NY PBA. But they will be keeping the pie!

Thank you so much to all of you who participated and donated. The support was truly amazing for a first-ever event during a very challenging year. A special thank you to those local businesses who graciously donated to our event:

All of the photo and video submissions have been turned over to the City Council for their selection of the winner. No Council member can vote for their own district.

Once we have their selections we will post the winner, and reach out for theiir Charity of choice!

Thank you to the Albany Paintball Experience, which has graciously offered to donate two free admission passes (a $50 value) to the winner of our Light Up Troy Holiday Competition & Charitable Fundraiser.

**Update**
Due to the possibility the lucky winner may not be an experienced paint baller, Albany Paintball Experience is going to throw in with the admissions, all day play, air marker (gun) and 500 balls. In total a $140 value.
