Meet John De Lorenzo and Kris Savage, the driving force behind Desert Pearl Mushrooms. With their team, they're bringing fresh, locally grown mushrooms to our plates in Tucson and across the southwest.

During my visit to their operation, I was amazed by their knowledge about sustainable farming.

Before this project, I knew a total of 0 bladesmiths, and now I know 2. Tim Jackson was kind enough to welcome me, a total stranger, into his workshop and show me the tools of the trade. He even let me swing a hammer at some hot steel and I have a new respect and understanding of his profession. ⁠

Janet K Burner has shared her beautiful pottery with Tucson since she started teaching ceramics at the Tucson Museum of Art campus in 1975. She brought me into her workshop, sharing her process and artistry for the camera and answering my endless questions about her life. I watched on as she masterfully threw clay onto her wheel and manipulated it into intricate shapes. See her works at sabinopottery.com

Meet Ta**us, the face and boss behind

When I first met Ta**us, he was a long time active music producer in the Tucson and Phoenix music scenes. It wasn't long before he was cooking up something special in the kitchen to delight the masses. You can find Ta**us and his delicious pineapple bread at damn near every market or vendor fair in the 520, 480, and 602. It's been an inspiration to see his hardwork lead to success and I can't wait to see where his delicious breads will take him in the future!

I’ve heard Ben’s name amongst my industry and foodie friends in Tucson for years and never had the pleasure of sampling his wares. I was thrilled to learn about his new location that opened recently in the new building at the 5 Points intersection and he was so kind to let me bring my camera and get a tour of the new operation.
