I’m asked this often enough that it deserves its own post.

The only downside I see to using the floor plate loop is: initially it makes packing a little more challenging because you have to make your folds neater.
If you want to start using it from day one there’s no problem, your first 5 or so packjobs will just be a little more challenging.
