📍 Tokyo, Japan
I am in Tokyo—what a beautiful country! 🇯🇵 I’m on a pilgrimage in the footsteps of the Martyrs of Japan, reflecting on faith, history, and culture.
We began Day 1 with Mass at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, a peaceful and spiritual start in the heart of Tokyo. ✝️
Afterward, we visited the iconic Tokyo Tower, soaking in breathtaking views of the city skyline.
For lunch, we headed to Shibuya Crossing, known as the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world! 🚦 Thousands of people cross from all directions at once—it’s like a perfect dance of humanity.
A little history: Shibuya Crossing rose to fame during Japan’s economic boom in the 1980s and became an international symbol of Tokyo’s fast-paced, vibrant urban life. It’s located just outside Shibuya Station, one of the busiest railway stations in the world. The area around it has long been a hub for youth culture, fashion, and entertainment.
So much energy, and yet, so much meaning behind every stop on this journey. 🙏
More to come as the pilgrimage continues…
