Enter and help us promote The Weekend Route’s off-the-beaten-track experiences, only the locals know about, to friends and family starved for unique adventures and great food. The more ways you share, the more opportunities for you to win.

Contest details:

Contest is open to ON, PQ, NY, PA, MI, IL, OH, IN, WI, MN residents only

​Contest runs until Thursday, June 20, 2024

Contest draw and winner announcement will occur Monday, June 24, 2024

The prize will need to be redeemed by Monday, July 1, 2024

Rules & Regulations:

No employee, or family member, of Big Clic Inc, or the subsidiaries is eligible to enter

The draw will occur on the day the contest ends in the province of Ontario at 12 PM EST

The winner will be notified on the day of the draw by phone and email. If after attempting to contact the winner we are unable to within 3 days, a new winner will be selected until we have success

This winner will then also be posted on www.theweekendroute.com and via social media

The winner agrees to allow his / her information to be shared publicly as the winner

The winner is required to answer a skill-testing question

In Willard Park, sits the World's Largest Rubber Stamp!

You will see the word FREE is what the rubber is supposed to stamp - and that has caused quite the confusion over the years.

The stamp is in memory of the Civil War and the freedom from slavery, although the CEO of BP thought it was to mock him - but thankfully, it has a much deeper meaning!

📍West Liberty, OH

Deep in "America's Most Colorful Caverns" (Ohio Caverns) lies The Crystal King - one of the biggest and most perfectly formed stalactites ever known!

The Crystal King is nearly 5 feet long and around 200,000 years old!

Visit the Ohio Caverns and take one of the informative tours to see the King in his deep, dark cavern kingdom.

They were placed there to attract customers into the pawn shop!

A small piece of history!

The original bridge was built in 1849. It was known as Loveland Mill being owned by Joseph Loveland and Hezekiah Smith. It was on a route where men brought good from Detroit.

The current bridge was built in 1901

At this park you can also visit the Rock Mill. The first mill (1799-1822) on the site was destroyed by flooding. Built in 1824, Rock Mill was one of a dozen mills in the area whose power source was the Hocking River. It was in operation as late as 1905 when it was closed.

A beautiful weekend adventure 💡

📍 Fairport Harbour, OH

☝️ The Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Light was built in 1925 and sits in Fairport Harbor, Ohio at the mouth of the Grand River. It was constructed to replace the original Fairport Harbor Lighthouse, which now serves as a marine museum. The original Fairport Harbor lighthouse protected the shore and directed mariners for 100 years before being falling into disrepair.

It is currently undergoing some renovations but the lighthouse and the state park near by would make for a lovely weekend adventure!

Who knew the gates to hell were in Ohio?

Deep in Colombia Ohio you will find the most chilling sight - the gates to hell! All who enter beware 🔥
The gates to hell, otherwise known as the blood bowl or the portal to hell is the nickname for an entrance to a tunnel in Columbus Ohio.
The tunnel earned what may be its most disturbing nickname, the Blood Bowl, because of an urban legend about a skateboarder who died there in the 1980s.
🛑 Although urbexers (urban explorers) do go in the tunnels it’s technically off limits to the public. Always be prepared if you choose to go urban exploring and do your research thoroughly!
