As someone who’s led many small-group beer adventures across the UK, I’ve developed a few non-negotiables when it comes to finding a great pint. Near the top of that list? A cask ale served just right.

When I visit England, nothing beats settling into a cozy stool at a local pub with a dark mild drawn fresh from the cask. But not all cask ales—or pubs—are created equal.
