Let's talk Cuba! Been going down there since 2011 and have been blessed with many great friends! This trip in October is special because Chef Nick Chavez, who is a Cuban American, is going to walk the streets of his grandparents and visit family he has never met! So many great things will happen during our week including a collaboration with our dear friend, Chef Alberto Gonzalez of Salchipizza fame and the only Cuban chef with a Michelin Star! Today is a good day to showcase my right hand man! An Event Creator is only as good as their Destination Manager and Daniel Perez Marcell has been that guy for me for over 2 years now! He was referred to me by our mutual friend, Milton Pintor del Tabaco whom I met in Miami in 2014!!! Our first "date" was a great group of people led by Jesse Lee Carrigan and his friends! Daniel has introduced me to everyone I know in Cuba now! I've made amazing friendships and business "partners". If it weren't for him and his contacts, Centerline Adventures would be just another "me too" tour company. Instead, we are a group of people who love the culture and experiences of the real Cuba and the real people and the real places. I'm friends with great tobacconists. Great chefs, one who is a Michelin Star recepient! Unbelievable musicians including one who is the TOP artist in the country (still waiting for my private concert!) Classic car owners, interesting Harley owners, and a really cool business man from Canada!! Not to mention my BFF, Vivian Caridad Acosta Melendez, who spent two days of her first visit to the US with me in Charlotte, NC instead of going to NYC!!! And the list goes on and on....with Daniel as my new COO, we are going to be the Cuban Experience Experts to follow. When I found out his birthday is one day after mine, that did it for me! He's my gold coin, my brass ring, my get out of jail free card, my guardian angel! I am blessed!
