😡NOPE NOT ON THIS AGENTS WATCH!
Situation: Client had a Amtrak train scheduled for today. That train was canceled due to derailment along the train route.
I have been on the phone since 9am handling it. Remember we see what you see on Amtraks sight (the same price), we just get paid by the vendor to book it for you and it costs you nothing more.

☎️I called to see what options there were as train derailments can be tricky. The 1st agent tells me they expect to be up and running for this train by August 6th and there's only roomettes left as everyone is being rebooked.
Ok (I verified the price online while on the phone) I see the price difference is $300...let me talk to the client and get back to you.
7 min later I was back on the phone with Amtraks travel agent line and another agent... who proceeds to tell me its $426...
Me: No Ma'am! This is not my 1st day 1st hour and as agents we see what you see. I'm online and theres 1 room left. I am a full time Travel agent and this increase due to a cancelation through no fault of my clients is not acceptable.
Amtrak: Well ma'am, as you know prices change and we see a different price then you.
I when i put it in this is the price that comes up. This is what my boss has verified as well when I asked for an over ride to change the reservation.
Me: You know I can see the price online right? You do not see a different price then me. That information is a 100% false.
So whatever override you asked for to update this Reservation, go back to your bosses and tell them to override whatever price your seeing. The difference is $300 and my client is not paying 1 dime more. We all see the same thing. I know the rules and I know how the process works through yrs of experience. This is not my 1st booking and the price has NEVER been different.
Amtrak: ok ma'am let me go ask but you should know prices continue to change.
Me: And you should know I see what you see so let me know when you have that override for my client.
Amtrak: Yes ma'am my boss has approved your $300 difference. I have a credit card on file ending in _____. Would you like me to use that card?
Me: Yes ma'am I would. Thank you very much.
Now I'm about to provide her the number to file her insurance claim for a canceled itinerary.
