FUN FACT: The Rose Parade began as a way to show off California’s beautiful January weather! 🌹☀️

In 1890, members of The Valley Hunt Club decorated their horse-drawn carriages with fresh flowers and paraded through Pasadena, while the rest of the country was stuck in snow.

Thanks to The Valley Hunt Club and their love of flowers, a tradition was born!

🥁 Meet the Bands | Mino Jiyu Gakuen

Say hello, or better yet Konnichiwa, to the Golden Bears from Mino Jiyu Gakuen “Golden Bears” Green Band in Osaka, Japan! This high-energy marching band is known for their powerful sound, sharp formations and an enthusiastic cheer squad that brings next-level spirit to every performance. They’re passionate, talented and excited to share their music and culture with the world at the 2026 Rose Parade. 🇯🇵

Earlier this year they helped set a Guinness World Record by performing with more than 12,000 musicians at the Brass Expo in Osaka Bay. Now they’re getting ready to march down Colorado Boulevard and we can’t wait to see what they bring to Pasadena. 🎉

The San Gabriel Valley Pride Center and the Tournament of Roses were proud to kick off Pride month with a reception celebrating the annual SGV Pride Tour! With support from Foothill Transit, Tournament House hosted more than 100 guests for a cocktail reception and program welcoming and honoring community leaders and organizations.

The Pasadena Tournament of Roses and Citizens Business Bank will award $20,000 in scholarships to eight graduation high school seniors from the Pasadena Unified School District. Rose Scholars, presented by Citizens Business Bank, is a program designed to help students in our community thrive and to foster their potential.
