If you think Florida in fall means cooler temps, think again. If you’re picturing brisk air and sipping a pumpkin spice latte while you stroll down Main Street, USA in cozy boots, NOPE. Florida’s version of fall is basically summer with pumpkins. And those lattes are iced.

In reality, here’s actually what to pack for a fall trip:

Light, breathable layers: It’s still hot during the day, but mornings and evenings can be a little cooler.

Shorts and t‑shirts: Bring plenty. You’ll live in them.

Sun protection: Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen because the Florida sun doesn’t care what season it is.

Poncho or light rain jacket: For those afternoon showers.

Comfortable walking shoes: Do NOT plan to break in a shiny new pair at Walt Disney World. Fall Disney fanatics, what is it that you love the most about visiting the parks this time of year? What is your Disney Fall love language?

The Lion King section at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will make you feel like royalty with the theming, space, and affordability.

Not only do you get Skyliner access here, but you are also closely located to the skyliner station in this section. You will love the space you get in these Family Suites like a separate bedroom, 3 beds, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchenette. This section is less expensive than the Finding Nemo Family Suites, but right next to it AND you are close to all 3 pools.

One of the most highly anticipated times each year at Disneyland is when the Haunted Mansion gets the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. This is not an overnight change. There’s new music, new scenes, a new Ghost Host, and so much more. Which means, it closes for a time and the overlay stays until early January.

And sometimes a virtual queue is used, which requires some strategy. That’s exactly the kind of detail I help my clients navigate when we plan their Disneyland visits together.

So…how do you feel about a major overlay like this? Total fan or Haunted Mansion purist?

Do you really need to buy Lightning Lane MultiPass? The short answer is, you’ll probably regret it if you don’t. Standby wait times can be scary. That said, everyone’s experience, needs, wants and idea of vacation is different. Which Walt Disney World attraction would you ALWAYS vote to wait for even if the standby line was creeping up there? AND what is the longest you’d wait for that beloved attraction?

Spoiler alert: food at Walt Disney World isn’t cheap. Here are some ways to get the most bang for your Disney food budget:

Share quick-service combo meals: Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom is a gem! You can easily share the sampler platter that has ribs, chicken, and pulled pork with a side.

Try kids meals: Not all kids meals are chicken nuggets and hamburgers. La Cantina de San Angel in the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT has a kids meal that adults will love: chicken taco, chips, cheese dip, fruit, and a drink.

Quick-Service Dining Plan: I often have conversations with my guests about whether a Disney Dining Plan is “worth it” for them. The answer is “sometimes.” If you are on a budget, consider the Quick-Service Dining Plan. You’ll get 2 quick-service meals and 1 snack per person per night of your stay. If you are strategic with those snack credits, you can really come out a dining winner!

One of the many perks of booking your dreamy Walt Disney World vacation with me is having help navigating the world of Disney Dining Plans. [email protected]

🎉🧙‍♂️🎉 What better day to talk about how to celebrate a birthday at Universal Orlando Resort than on Harry Potter’s big day! 🪄✨

Did you know Universal also has celebration buttons? Just head to Guest Services and put that baby on for some fun birthday greetings throughout the day. If you really want to level up, I have some ideas:

🌟 Book a VIP Tour: They offer private and non-private options that are quite affordable!

🌟 Get the Express Pass: Nobody should wait in lines on their birthday. Better yet, go UNLIMITED!

🌟 Stay at a Signature Hotel: Even for just one night, splurge and be extra close to the original parks and CityWalk. (All but Helios include the Unlimited Express Pass!)

🌟 Plan a sit down meal: This doesn’t mean don’t snack and have Butterbeer in every form it comes in. But birthdays are special days, so blow out a candle on some cake!

🌟 Book an Escape Room: Traveling with a few in your crew? Try your hand at the Jurassic Park or Back to the Future themed rooms at CityWalk.

🌴🤭 The Jungle Cruise jokes and puns don’t stop at the boat. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland brings the fun, the flavor and a whole slew of “Easter eggs” from the attraction and Adventurers Club from the now defunct Pleasure Island!

🍽️ This table service spot offers global-inspired eats (hello, "Hardy Har Char Siu Pork" and “Tastes Like Chicken Because it Is”) and quirky décor straight from the 🔎 Society of Explorers and Adventurers. Dining here feels like a delicious, extended ride queue. Be sure to take your time and look around. The Cast Members are fun, friendly and happy to point out some hidden secrets.
