It’s one of our favorite times of the year at A603-springtime. Here come the bluebonnets! For some of the best views, travel North on highway 16 to the Willow City Loop. Driving along the loop you will come across many opportunities to stop and take in breathtaking scenes. You will see cattle grazing and even possibly a deer or two. Late afternoon/evening is the best time to experience WCL in our opinion. Another favorite is Wildseed Farms on 290 East of town. Fields of wildflowers, a gift shop and wine tasting are just a few of the things to enjoy. There’s something for everyone!

It’s peach season in Fredericksburg, TX! Gillespie county is one of the largest peach-producing counties in Texas with 600 acres of peach trees🍑
Try some peach ice cream or buy some peach jam to take home with you. While you’re in town, go visit Luckenbach. If you’re lucky, you might get to see a chicken “singing” with the band!

A quick trip to FBG to meet with contractors about exterior projects and have some time away. Enjoyed some beautiful weather and checked a couple of things off the “to do” list. Didn’t have a lot of time to shop but we did hit a few of our favs-Rustlin’ Rob’s, Sassie Lassie, Pottery Ranch and Leroy’s (for quite possibly the best nachos on the planet). Along the way we discovered a couple of new spots: Tubby’s-right off Main Street, is perfectly situated to get away from the crowd and enjoy a beer or two. The Peach Basket is on West Main and has been in business since 1977 (only 5 years before Mema and Papaw Anderson moved to FBG). Family owned, it offers many FBG items as well as beautiful, handmade African baskets. If you purchase one of these baskets, you are helping to build water wells.

The hill country will be covered with wildflowers soon and you don’t want to miss that! You better hurry though, we saw bluebonnets along the roadside already!

Come visit the Texas Hill Country and stay at Anderson 603. Weekends are booking up fast but we recommend avoiding the crowds and coming during the week. One of our new favorite restaurants is Nury’s on Main.

If you’d like to experience the FBG food and wine festival on October 28, that weekend is currently open.
