An aviation CSR (Customer Service Representative) at an FBO (Fixed Base Operator) is a frontline employee responsible for providing high-quality customer service to private aviation clients, including pilots, crew, and passengers, by managing their needs at the FBO terminal, which could include handling flight scheduling, fuel requests, ground transportation arrangements, catering, and overall ensuring a smooth experience during their arrival and departure at the airport; essentially acting as the primary point of contact for all customer interactions at the FBO. Key responsibilities of an aviation CSR at an FBO:
Greeting and assisting customers: Professionally welcoming arriving passengers and crew, providing information about FBO services, and addressing any initial inquiries.
Flight scheduling and coordination: Managing aircraft arrival and departure times, coordinating with ground crew, and communicating with air traffic control as necessary.
Fuel services: Processing fuel requests, calculating fuel quantities, and ensuring proper fueling procedures are followed.
Ground transportation arrangements: Arranging for ground transportation like taxis, limousines, or rental cars for passengers.
Catering and concierge services: Taking catering orders, coordinating with outside vendors for special requests, and providing local recommendations.
Billing and invoicing: Generating invoices for services rendered, including fuel, parking, and other FBO fees.
Administrative tasks: Maintaining customer records, updating scheduling systems, and managing FBO communication channels.
Key skills required for an aviation CSR at an FBO:
Excellent customer service skills: Ability to interact with diverse clientele in a friendly and professional manner, anticipating their needs.
Strong communication skills: Clear and concise communication both verbally and in writing to effectively interact with pilots, crew, and other stakeholders.
