Our country is being looted and it’s our children that will pay for it. Public lands should be protected at all costs. Our government Is stealing from us without permission. They’ll destroy and exploit these lands and spit it out when they’re done. Our government robs not only the living, but also the unborn.

There’s someone super special on the team of My XO Adventures. Without her, I would not have as happy guests as I do. Upon pickup, they might not know who I am, or have an idea of what kind of experience they are about to embark upon. They might not know all the beautiful things there are to see.

She develops relationship with guests before we even meet in person. She recommends, mentions potential pitfalls, is a source of local knowledge, and makes sure we know who you are before you may know who we are! She happens to be my mom, and My XO Adventures couldn’t function in the ways I’m so proud of today.

She likes vanilla bean Haagen Daz, loves her cat Beesaw and right now, the Northern Black Hills happen to be her favorite place to be. Her name is Amiee Rothrock and she’s a pillar of what we do. Thanks mom!

The Badlands didn’t disappoint last night.

Our sunset tour turned into something surreal—like nature decided to flex a little.
We had streaks of rain falling like waves, backlit by a fiery sun. Weird, rolling clouds came out of nowhere, and lightning cracked across the prairie like it was painting the sky. And yes—wildlife didn’t seem to mind the chaos one bit.

These photos are from that exact tour.
No filters. No drama added. The Badlands just showed off.
