Today, we arrived in Ischia and I am loving the island. It reminds me of Sicily with the same street signs, old rocks along the road and the steep, mountainous, curvy streets to get around.

While we are on the island I will be staying at the beautiful high above on a mountain, but very close to a lovely town, where I bought way too much from but the shoes and clothes were gorgeous! The town is only a 15 minute walk down and maybe an 18 minute walk up.

I’m staying in a Bi-Level Pool Suite, as you can see in my video, and the pool water is fantastically warm for cooler evenings, with the most amazing sunset view. The hotel is family owned, which I love, and you are surrounded by beautiful gardens and eleven pools! There are many natural hot springs to experience, as well as hiking, wine making/tasting and so much more.

Ischia is the relaxed, bigger, more authentic version of Capri and only 50 to 60 minutes by boat from Naples or Capri. Very easy to get to. 🛥️

A little taste of my time in Sorrento. 🍋🍋

It’s my third time here and could never get old…Sorrento is a great town to stay in or to end your stay, while in the Amalfi coast. It’s the closest town to the airport, the shortest boat/ferry route to Capri and if you have issues with walking, it’s nice and flat, where some of the other towns are not.

Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento- my home for the next 4 nights. It’s a really beautiful, boutique hotel option that is not directly in the center of Sorrento, but perhaps better for it. ☀️

Good things to know…
- The staff is amazing. Fantastic service, very welcoming, which I’ve learned is very, very important when traveling.
- Seems very clean, fresh, like it’s been updated recently.
- Beautiful outdoor seating areas surrounded by lush greenery.
- A large, beach entry pool.
- If you need a hot tub, they have one for you, by the main pool.
- Indoor/Outdoor Gym
- Key to remember- they have a partnership with La Marinella Beach Club, just below the hotel. That means complimentary access to a sandy beach, as well as their dock beach, without paying beach club prices.✨
- Complimentary hotel Mercedes Van shuttle to the main piazza - 5 minute ride, every 30 minutes.

I strolled to the main piazza - Piazza Tasso, yesterday, which took about 15-20 minutes. It’s impossible to get lost, just follow the traffic or signs, but I did happen to go down wrong the road, which ended up being a good thing. I found a public garden filled with orange and lemon trees that smelled like honeysuckles all around me. It was amazing.

As you get closer to the piazza, the traffic of cars and people picks up and gets louder, so while the center may be a 5 minute shuttle ride away, staying at Hotel Mediterraneo, you see a different part of Sorrento that isn’t so busy and loud.
