Let’s make something with our hands (it feels good) 👐 We’re hosting an intro to Earth Building Workshop led by Bryce of August 23rd & 24th from 2-6pm at , bordering Saguaro National Park West. Come for one day, or both!

Bryce will be teaching various natural building techniques such as adobe, cob, hyper/super adobe, rammed earth, and desert masonry. We’ll also complete a super adobe bench throughout the two days that will live on at ✨

Last week we spent the week at for our annual “maintenance week”. More than ever, it’s become a village effort between our small team, friends & family. Our girls came with us and spent time with family while we all tackled a few maintenance projects that have been on the list, and make time for a little fun in between like some wood fired pizzas and bath house sessions. We even had a couple of rainbows! 🌈✨The inn is feeling all fresh, and we’re feeling tired grateful for our little village—definitely couldn’t do this alone. 😅

Last week we stepped off of a plane back into the summer desert heat, and our first words were “oh, this feels so good”. 🌵🌞 It may not be for everyone, but we’re grateful to be here for one of the most surreal times of year.

A couple of weeks ago, our sweet cat Ellie passed away. At 19 years old, she’d been a part of our family for half of our lives (Rich and I got her as teenagers—for those of you that don’t know, we’ve been dating since high school!) The loss of our sweet girl has left us feeling both so incredibly grateful to have had her for so long and absolutely heartbroken to no longer have her here.

She was truly the sweetest, always there for a snuggle whenever we needed it most. As with most things in life, we would much rather have had her in our lives and go through the pain we are now than to not have had her at all. It was so special that she got to meet both of our girls too (and spent lots of time on my pregnant belly with both).

I know so many of you have been through similar losses with pets—if only they could live as long as we do. 😿

Watching the desert glow as the sun sets, we can’t help but feel so grateful for these public lands that have shaped our lives in ways we never imagined. These wild spaces aren’t just a backdrop—they’re where we find inspiration, peace, and the most meaningful conversations.

The thought of selling off 3.3 million acres of protected land feels like selling pieces of our collective soul. When we imagine our 85-year-old selves looking back, we know we’ll be proud of choosing slow mornings in nature, of creating experiences more than consuming things, of protecting these sacred spaces that bring us all together.

Here’s to keeping public lands public, to art inspired by wide open spaces, and to all of you who believe in preserving these natural treasures for generations to come. 🌵💫 (and a link in our stories to tell your Senator a big fat no to selling off our public lands for profit)

In case you all missed it over on , we are so very excited to share our newest space—the Prickly Pear Casita on site at the inn in Tucson! This casita has access to all of the inn’s amenities including the canyon pool, hot spring hot tub, desert walking trails etc with the benefit of a little extra privacy and sleeping space for larger families or groups. With two king size beds, a crib, and the option of an additional floor mattress it sleeps 4 adults + 3 kids! Head to the link in our bio for more details 🌵✨
