💦 Planning a Florida springs day this Labor Day weekend? SAVE THIS.
A few of Florida’s most popular springs have changed how day-use entry works — and the old “we’ll just get there early” plan doesn’t work everywhere anymore. 👀

❓ I have a Florida State Parks Annual Pass. Do I still need a reservation?
YES. 🛑 At Blue Spring, Rainbow Springs and Wekiwa Springs, annual passholders still need a day-use reservation. Your pass covers admission — it does not replace the reservation.
❓ Can I just get there really early instead?
Not at those three. If a day-use reservation is required, early ≠ reservation.
❓ If I buy a day pass online, am I guaranteed entry?
Not necessarily. ⚠️ A regular prepaid day pass is different from a required entry reservation. At capacity-controlled parks, you can still be turned away when the park is full. Ichetucknee specifically warns that even visitors with digital day passes or rental reservations can be denied entry once capacity is reached.
❓ What if the spring doesn’t require reservations?
GO EARLY. 🟢 Holiday weekends are some of the busiest days at Florida springs, and parks can temporarily close when they reach capacity.
❓ How far ahead can I reserve the reservation-required State Parks?
📅 Up to 60 days in advance, with same-day reservations possible only if space remains.
🌴 One last tip: always check the official park page the morning you go. Capacity, swimming conditions and access can change.
