My goal within the next couple of years is to DANCE IN ALL 50 US STATES (and DC)! I'm keeping a tally here.

This is a promotion for page for Jewel Leigh Media projects including JEWEL LEIGH'S ROCK 'N' ROLL TRAVEL SHOW and her work as a radio personality on Lecomradio.com I've BEEN to like, 38 states, but if I don't remember dancing in them, they won't be marked. This is authentic and important stuff to keep track of. :)

Austin, Texas - An amazing city for live music - especially if you appreciate the vintage pop LEGENDS who got their start there and/or made an impact on music history. The story of the McCoys "Hang on Sloopy" song isn't as straightforward as you might think.

I stumbled upon some information about this song while on a murals tour of Steubenville, OH - the hometown of Dean Martin!

Superstar (and yes--vintage pop music star) Dean Martin was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio.

My visit there led me on a quest in this "City of Murals." The last one I found honors the late singer. Steubenville is very proud of their most famous former resident...and their murals.

In 1971, Ezra Charles was desperate to sell his new invention, the Helpinstill Piano Sensor (which revolutionized the live sound of pianos).

He had sold his 1st one to Elton John, then, he decided to find Leon Russell, arguably the most famous pianist in the country at the time. Ezra found Leon's front door wide open, so he walked right in. :)

Not many have experienced tragedy and triumph to the degree that Roy Orbison did in his short life. I'll be exploring his hometown of Vernon, Texas and the life of the legendary singer/songwriter/
