☘️ POSTCARDS FROM IRELAND — DAY 4 CONTINUES 🇮🇪

A RETURN TO BLARNEY

From Cobh, our travels continued to Blarney—one of County Cork’s best-known and most enjoyable stops.

Although we didn’t tour Blarney Castle on this particular visit, I’ve included a few photographs from a previous trip because this beautiful setting is simply too good to leave out of our Postcards from Ireland.

Surrounded by trees, gardens and lush Irish greenery, Blarney Castle looks every bit as atmospheric as you would imagine. Of course, it is most famous for the legendary Blarney Stone, said to bestow the “gift of the gab” upon those who kiss it.

Nearby, the ivy-covered Blarney Woollen Mills is another favourite stop. What began as a working woollen mill has become a wonderful place to browse Irish clothing, crafts and gifts—and perhaps bring home a little piece of Ireland. It is where we purchased and had shipped back home, our Waterford crystal chandelier.

From a morning train ride to colourful Cobh, a few well-earned libations and an afternoon in Blarney, Day 4 gave us another terrific taste of County Cork. 🇮🇪
