🐉 EPIC UNIVERSE PORTAL RANKINGS: #2 🐉
We're almost to #1! 👀 And coming in at #2 on my Epic Universe portal rankings is…
🐲 How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk! 🐲
I think this portal is probably the most balanced of the four.
It's visually stunning.
There is SO much to do.
But somehow, it doesn't feel overwhelming.
And it's also probably the most complete-feeling land to me.
You've got 3 rides, a live show, character meet-and-greets, tons of food, shops, and SO many little details to explore.
Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to meet Toothless 😭 which is definitely on my list for next time!
Let's talk about the rides…
🎢 Hiccup's Wing Gliders
This coaster is SO much fun.
It's surprisingly long, has some really good twists and turns, and we enjoyed it enough that we actually rode it TWICE. 😂
Definitely one of my favorite attractions at Epic Universe.
🐉 Dragon Racer's Rally
This one is fun too!
Although…good luck getting yourself to actually flip those things. 😂
My biggest complaint is that it's SO short for the wait time. I enjoyed the attraction, but I'm not sure I'd want to stand in a massive line for it.
🔥 Fyre Drill
Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to experience this one during our trip.
I've ridden a similar style of attraction in the past, though, and I've always enjoyed them, so I'm definitely looking forward to trying it on a future visit!
And then we have…
🐲✨ The Untrainable Dragon
VERY FUN SHOW.
Seriously.
And the flying Toothless?!
😭😭😭
Absolutely took my breath away.
Seeing Toothless flying over the audience was one of those moments where you're just sitting there thinking, “Okay…Universal. You got me.”
And can we PLEASE talk about the food?!
🍖 THERE IS SO MUCH FOOD.
We ate at Mead Hall, and the food was DELICIOUS. 🤤
But honestly, the restaurant itself deserves some love too because the theming is SO well done. It feels like you're actually sitting inside Berk.
And speaking of theming…
This land is BEAUTIFUL at night. 🌙🐉
There is something about seeing all of Berk lit up after dark that really makes the whole area feel magical.
Overall, Isle of Berk is just SUPER SOLID.
It feels like a very complete land. There's enough to do that you could easily spend a significant amount of time here, but it doesn't have the sensory overload that I felt in Super Nintendo World.
I do have one major complaint, though…
😬 It's not quite as immersive as I wanted it to be.
The biggest culprit?
Being able to see Stardust Racers while you're in line for Hiccup's Wing Gliders.
It definitely took away from that feeling of actually being IN BERK.
And this land is BIG.
Like…really big. 😂
Getting from Point A to Point B quickly can be a little difficult, and it was surprisingly easy for us to get turned around and have no idea where we were going.
But honestly?
Those are pretty minor complaints when you look at everything this portal has to offer.
🐲 #2 – How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk
Beautiful. Fun. Tons to do. Great food. An incredible show.
Just a really, really solid land.
Which means there's only ONE portal left…
And if you've been following along, you already know what took my #1 spot. 👀✨
