Upon the recommendation of a fried who lives local and met us to visit, we chose pizza.
We love brick oven (and wood-fired is even better) and we were not disappointed.
Diane had a "select your own" with beef, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions.
Our friend had pepperoni and I had a side salad (diet).
I did enjoy one slice of Diane's and it was very good. Fresh ingredients and the dough had very good flavor. While not trying the pepperoni, I assume it was good since she recommended it.
The salad was not much but fresh and crispy.
Overall it was good.

Port Lavaca TX

3.19.26 dinner

Quaint spot on the bayou in Port Lavaca.
Nice patio to sit and enjoy what was a pleasant evening.
Diane had the red snapper with loaded potato salad and hushpuppies.
The fish was a nice portion, cooked perfect and was flaky and juicy. The hushpuppies were good and she was pleased that there were no jalapeños. The "loaded" potato salad was not. No scallions, bacon or cheese. Upon mentioning this to the server she assured us that it was mixed in, but it was not. After further questioning we learned that they don't don't make it in house and when they checked, the batch they had was very lacking in everything but just the potato salad.
Word to servers. While our server was nice and attentive, when a customer has an issue, take it seriously from the beginning and don't assume they are not correct.
It was sad to hear something like this is not made in house and causes one to wonder how much they serve that is freshly made.
I had the bone in wings and they were cooked perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall we enjoyed our experience and can recommend it.

Upon the suggestion from a lady at the local Enterprise, we came for a late breakfast early lunch.
Diane had an omelet swapping out ground beef for the listed meat options. It came with potatoes and toast. The omelet was flat instead of folded but so what, it was fresh and good. She would have liked the potatoes to have some crispness but the flavor was good.
I had a ground beef taco salad. All the ingredients were crisp and fresh. The ground beef might could use a tad more seasoning but it had a good beef flavor and was not a greasy mess that so many places choose to make theirs. The shell was very good and crisp and the flavor was clean and really enjoyable. I almost didn't try the homemade salsa because they had no Chalula (which is my preference) but I did at the last second and was glad I did. It could be much thicker but the flavor was excellent.
The young ladly who served us was nice and helpful.
Overall, highly recommended two-thumbs up 👍 👌

Restaurant at the hotel and usually means we go somewhere else but we were tired and the reviews were good.
The reviews were justified by the food we ordered.
I had the southwest Chipotle chicken salade and everything about it was fresh and flavorful.
Diane had the pick four platter with tostadas, tacos, chips and queso and fried avocado. The avocado was crispy on the outside while soft but not mushy and the inside. Just right. The tostadas and tacos were, once again, fresh and flavorful. Friendly service topped off a nice dinner.

Diane had the salmon on Quinoa that had a nice crispy edge but not overdone. Very good flavoring.
I had the queso fundido with chorizo. It's a favorite dish of mine and this one hit the spot.
It also didn't hurt that we sat beside the canal and enjoyed the gondoliers singing Italian songs.

Nice porch seating area and the service was very good. I had the roast beef sandwich with loaded tots.
The beef was plentiful and tender but really needed more seasoning. The au jus seemed to be made from a packet of brown gravy mix, ok but not the best.
Diane had the Chicken Tacos and they were good but the corn tortillas just fell apart making them fork food.
Overall, we might would give it another try but there is so much realy good food in Vegas that somewhat ordinary doesn't stay on your menu of choices.

We don't usually get the thick crust but these Sicilian style slices caught our eye and so we went for it. The edges were nice and crispy and the flavors were very good. We would certainly try them again.

We shared the first and shrimp with fries and it was plenty for both of us. The fish is lightly breaded and large filets with the shrimp being equally good. Sorry, we devoured the food before we remembered to take pics. 😃

I usually avoid hotel restaurants as they tend to be expensive traps.
We decided to eat here because we just didn't want to get out again after checking in to the hotel and the reviews were good.
I must say we were very pleasantly surprised.
We split the ribeye with an added side of ribs, green beans and mixed vegetables and side salad
They started out with a loaf of delicious bread and butter. The bread seemed homemade and it was hard not to gorge on it.
The steak was perfectly cooked, seasoned well and exceptionally tender. Couldn't have been better. The salade, crisp and fresh. The green beans and veggies were good but not overwhelming. We also had the add on of the peppercorn sauce. While it was ok it did not seem to be freshly made and was just not the same quality as the steak but I still ate a good amount.
The ribs were very good and tender.
Overall, the steak was high quality good for any restaurant let alone a hotel restaurant. We will look to return on our next travels through.

Fun little downtown tea room with very friendly and attentive staff. The menu of food is not large but the tea and coffee selections are many.
Diane had the chicken salad sandwich where they use white and wheat bread combined for a neat little twist. The chicken salad was very good and the portion was nice.
I had the roast beef that was the daily special. Very tender, very good and I loved the au jus that had herbs and onions mixed in and not just broth. I actually just drank the last of it after I finished the sandwich. I also had the homemade potato salad and highly recommended it.
We ordered a pot of hot tea to share and enjoyed the China cup and saucer.
The only suggestions for the restaurant are that the tea pots need more than one bag of tea to create the most full flavor possible. Also, while I enjoyed the sandwich, I felt a little shorted on the roast beef amount.
Upon receiving the check they had included a cute little charm and a small box with a lighthouse and sayings inside. Never seen that before and it was a nice touch.
Having said that, we recommend two-thumbs up 👍👍

Mom and pop in Paris Texas.
Stopped in for a late breakfast early lunch about 10:15 on Saturday.
Friendly folks who are working fast but understaffed so expect a wait hut now you before you go in so don't get upset.
I had the ham and cheese omelet with added onions. Great flavor and enjoyed. Added a side of bacon and while not crispy, it tasted good.
Diane had the downtown breakfast with substituted French toast. Everything was good once again.
We did have one issue that was resolved with the complete dismissal of our bill. Totally unnecessary to go that far but they insisted. I felt bad because we ate almost everything. I hope no one thinks they can come in here, create a problem and try to get their food free because of my post but I felt it was important to show just how responsive they were to our issue.
Overall, recommended two-thumbs up 👍 👌

With a strong urge for some Texas BBQ, I stopped in around 3 for a late lunch. When I stepped up to the counter, I received a friendly greeting and was told the hamburgers were a big hit. I found that interesting since it was called a BBQ joint, but ok.
I should have listened.
Being desirous of BBQ, I went ahead and ordered a 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs. When I got the plate, I was pleased at the amount of food for the price. Sadly, the joy was short-lived.
The brisket and ribs were both without much flavor and very tough. The sauce was mostly colored water and, again, without any real flavor. I ate 2 pieces of the brisket that were thin sliced and 2 ribs, and it was not easy. I finally gave up and ate the sides, baked beans and potato salad, and they were good. I ended up throwing away 2/3 of the meat on a wasted $13.
I hate writing bad reviews on local restaurants because those are my favorite, but the BBQ I had here was just not good at all. I hope many of their other items are good, and if I get back that way, maybe I should try the burgers.
