🎈 Hot air balloon weekend is almost here at Letchworth State Park!

As of now, this weekend’s forecast remains a bit unsettled, and balloon launches are always highly dependent on wind and weather conditions. Pilots and crews will be monitoring conditions closely throughout the weekend and making go/no-go decisions just a few hours before each scheduled launch window.

More than a dozen balloons are expected to launch from the Archery Field inside Letchworth State Park throughout Memorial Day weekend, weather permitting!

Scheduled launch windows:
🎈 Friday, May 22: Evening launch (6:30–7:45 PM)
🎈 Saturday, May 23: Morning launch (6:00–7:00 AM)
🎈 Saturday, May 23: Evening launch (6:30–7:45 PM)
🎈 Sunday, May 24: Morning launch (6:00–7:00 AM)

☀️ Even if weather impacts launches this weekend, ride balloons fly throughout the season near the Upper-Middle Falls area — and launches are always free to watch!

💦 Waterfall Wednesday 💦

If you’re up for a little adventure, the Lower Falls region of Letchworth State Park is always worth the climb down. After descending 127 stairs through the gorge, you’re rewarded with an incredible up-close view of one of the park’s most breathtaking waterfalls. 🌿

The sound of the rushing water, towering cliffs, and mist in the air make this spot feel like something straight out of a dream. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning for the hundredth, the Lower Falls never disappoints.

The beloved Letchworth Hot Air Balloon Rally returns Memorial Day Weekend 2026 as the family-owned small business, Balloons Over Letchworth, welcomes pilots from near and far for one unforgettable weekend in the “Grand Canyon of the East.” 🌄✨

🗓 Planned launch windows:
• Friday evening 5/22
• Saturday early morning 5/23
• Saturday evening 5/23
• Sunday early morning 5/24

⚠️ Please note: launches are highly weather and wind dependent and will only happen if conditions are safe for flying.
