Africa Day is a celebration of unity, freedom, and the future of the continent. Every year on May 25, we honor the formation of the Organization of African Unity, now known as the African Union, which was created in 1963 as a major step toward independence and Pan-African solidarity. ✊🏾

We celebrate Africa Day to remember the power of resistance, the strength of our ancestors, and the beauty of our shared heritage. It’s a reminder that across borders, languages, and histories, we are connected. 🌍

From the continent to the diaspora, our stories are linked and our liberation is too! 👏🏾

The Vai people of Liberia developed one of Africa’s few indigenous writing systems, known as the Vai script. 🇱🇷

It was documented as having its orgins in the 19th century, but elders say the roots extend much earlier. ✍🏿

This unique syllabic script recorded histories, communication, and trade. It shows us that literacy existed in the region long before colonial influence. ⛓️‍💥

Always remember, Black history starts before slavery and the transatlantic slave trade. ⚓️

African American food 🤝🏾 West African food

Originally from West Africa, okra was brought to the Americas by enslaved Africans. Okra is a staple in dishes like gumbo, a hearty stew combining okra with meats, seafood, and spices.

There are so many parallels and connections to our heritage and West Africa and the more we recognize them the more we can remember who exactly we ARE! ✊🏾

Check out the official Travel Deeper Inc. impact report for the work we have done in 2024 for Fibroid Awareness Month and around women's womb health and wellness 🌺

We provided 51 screenings in partnership with PLUS Medical Centre and in Accra, Ghana 🇬🇭

Built partnerships with 12 organizations, businesses, and groups who are committed to championing women's health and tackling the issue of uterine fibroids 🪷

We reached over 1,000 people with our various in-person and virtual events and activities 🫂

Our message was heard by 53,257 via various social media channels and platforms 📲

And we our NOT done! On December 30th, we will be supporting our friends at in Kasoa providing education and outreach to women on womb wellness and fibroid awareness 🩺

As the year ends, we finished on an incredible note with our annual Journey to Womb Wealth Wellness event, so with that - our 2024 season is officially wrapped 🎁

Thank you to all who have made donations to promote early detection and ensure women in Ghana can get an abdominal ultrasound and consultation with a medical professional. 🙏🏾
