As usual, Peter Hessler wrote it better than I could. As many of you know, Andrew and I, along with our wives, both served as Peace Corps China 16 volunteers from 2010-2012. While it pains us to see this program end, we value deeply the experiences and relationships we made during our service, some of which led directly to the creation of TIE. Politics aside, Peace Corps China was always about building connections and understanding between people, and those goals will continue to remain at the core of Total Immersion Experience.

The agency has always been viewed as removed from political spats. But the timing of the U.S.’s decision seems suspicious.

Our students were able to visit an art museum in Zhanjiagang, where they practiced traditional Chinese calligraphy guided by the artists.
