President Trump said, The White House Helipad would be completed before a planned visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping on September 24, 2026. During a visit to Beijing, China, President Trump invited President Xi Jinping to the White House in Washington DC U.S.A.
Following the signing, President Trump talked with reporters for a few minutes on The White House South Lawn, standing behind the Helipad stone. President Trump described the new White House helipad as "beautiful" and said it would feature the seal of the president carved in granite. He also stated the project, estimated at $5–6 million and privately funded by Sikorsky.

Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, is funding the project, reportedly due to concerns about the damage caused by the new helicopters. It is also alledged that President Trump path to the helipad will be more stable than the WhiteHouseSouth lawn.
Sikorsky Aircraft is an American aircraft manufacturer based in Stratford, Connecticut. Sikorsky Aircraft was established by the Russian-American aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky in 1923, and was among the first companies to manufacture helicopters for civilian and military use. Sikorsky Aircraft also produced seaplanes for passenger transport and surface vehicles such as trains and boats.
The new helipad at the White House is designed to accommodate the VH-92A Marine One helicopters, which have powerful downward exhaust vents that can damage the lawn.
The helipad will feature the presidential seal carved in granite, chosen for its durability and aesthetic appeal.
The helipad is expected to be completed before the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping on September 24, 2026.
