Our last port of the Alaska cruise was Ketchikan, and we definitely made the most of it! ❤️

We started around Creek Street and finally got our first bear sighting of the trip! 🐻 He was sitting there in the creek eating a salmon while hundreds of them were making their way upstream. Such a cool thing to see in person!

We walked around Creek Street, including Dolly’s House, one of the original buildings there and a former brothel, and made a few shopping stops before heading out for our kayaking excursion.

The kayaking was probably one of my favorite parts of the day. It was literally just Josh, me and our guide, so it felt like our own private little adventure. We spent about two hours around the Clover Pass area and saw at least 10 sea lions, more salmon, a bald eagle and its HUGE nest. 🦭🦅

And then we learned that bull kelp makes a pretty impressive trumpet… 😂 Of course we had to try it!

What a way to finish our last port. Between the wildlife, scenery and all the little unexpected moments, Alaska definitely did not disappoint.

If Alaska is on your list, I’d love to help you plan your own trip and find the experiences that are the right fit for you. There are so mang gorgeous places to see in Alaska that even photos cannot do justice to the beauty.

We had the BEST time today with Wings Airways & Taku Glacier Lodge in Juneau.

We started out in Juneau and climbed aboard the seaplane for our flight over the Juneau Icefield. There were only 12 people on our plane, which meant everyone had a window seat and an incredible view! 🏔️🧊

Josh got to sit right up front with the pilot, which was pretty cool! He had a front-row seat for the entire flight.

We saw FIVE glaciers from the air — Norris, Taku, Hole-in-the-Wall, East Twin and West Twin. Seeing them from a little seaplane was such a different perspective. You really get a feel for just how massive this landscape is.

Then we landed right on the Taku River and arrived at Taku Glacier Lodge.

A little history that I thought was pretty interesting… the lodge was built in 1923 by Dr. Harry C. DeVighne, a Juneau physician, and originally served as a hunting and fishing camp called Twin Glacier Camp. Today it’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

And the setting? Absolutely incredible. The lodge sits out in the wilderness with Hole-in-the-Wall Glacier right across the river.

And then came lunch… all made from scratch.😋🔥

We had a wild Alaskan salmon feast cooked over an alderwood fire, along with all the homemade sides. And yes, we had drinks chilled with actual glacier ice! 🧊

After lunch, we had time to walk the trails and explore around the lodge. I loved having that time to actually slow down and take in where we were instead of just seeing it from a window.

And then it was back on the seaplane for the flight back to Juneau — with one more incredible look at those glaciers along the way.

This is exactly the kind of excursion I want to experience myself so I can tell my clients what it's REALLY like. Not just what the description says, but what the day actually feels like.

And this one? I would absolutely do again. ❤️

🧊 Day 4 — Hubbard Glacier! 🧊

Today was ALL about the glacier, and WOW… what a day!

We spent the day sailing toward Hubbard Glacier and got to see so much along the way. We saw calving, watched sea lions hanging out on the ice, and had icebergs floating around us. 🦭🧊

Our Captain Theo was amazing! He got us as close to the glacier as legally possible, roughly within a half mile which gave us such an incredible view. You really don't appreciate just how massive these glaciers are until you're sitting there looking at one from the ship.

Then we saw the glacier calve… and that was something else! Hearing and watching that huge piece of ice break away and hit the water was definitely one of those moments I'll remember.

I took SO many pictures today, but honestly, they just don't capture what it was like being there.

Another pretty incredible day in Alaska. ❤️

Have you ever seen a glacier calve in person? Or is that something you'd love to see someday?

I have said this everyday on this trip thus far, if you haven't the beauty of Alaska it definitely needs to be on your bucket list of next trips

Day 3 of our Alaska cruise, and Icy Strait Point was such a fun stop! 🐋🏔️

We spent our morning on a small-group whale-watching excursion with Catch of the Day LLC, and having just 8 people onboard made the experience feel so personal. There was plenty of room to move around the boat, everyone had a great view (we each had our own window), and our captain and Naturalist onboard could really focus on finding the whales for us.

And find them we did! 🐋 We saw several whales surfacing and feeding, and every time someone spotted a blow, the whole boat would start looking for where it would come up next. 😂

One whale surfaced especially close to us, and I just stood there watching. Seeing a whale in the wild from a small boat is something you really have to experience to appreciate. ❤️

Afterward, we headed to The Fisherman’s Daughter for lunch. We tried the halibut tacos and the halibut Caesar wrap, and both were SO good! 🌮🐟 Fresh halibut after an afternoon on the water was the perfect way to end our excursion.

I also loved learning more about Icy Strait Point while we were here. It’s owned and operated by Huna Totem Corporation, an Alaska Native village corporation representing Huna Tlingit shareholders, with tourism helping create opportunities for the local community and you can only visit by air or cruise.

Talk about a great way to spend day 3! 🛳️🐋❤️

🗻 MUST-KNOW MONDAY: ALASKA EDITION 🐋

Here’s something I always tell clients considering an Alaska cruise:

Don’t book Alaska just for the ports. Book it for the scenery between them. 👏

Some of the most incredible moments can happen while you’re still on the ship—sailing past towering mountains, spotting whales from your balcony, watching massive glaciers calve into the water, or waking up to a view that looks completely unreal.

And yes… your ship is part of the experience. 🚢

Alaska is one of those trips where I think the journey itself deserves just as much attention as the itinerary.

Would you cruise Alaska for the wildlife, the glaciers, or the scenery? 👀

🚢✨ TODAY’S THE DAY!!! ✨🚢

We’re waking up in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, but we’re not staying on land for long… because ALASKA, HERE WE COME! 🏔️🐋❄️

Today we’re boarding the Celebrity Solstice for an incredible Alaska adventure! And this sailing is extra exciting because the Solstice has recently completed a full refurbishment, so I can’t wait to see all the updates and experience her firsthand. 😍🚢

Over the next several days, I’ll be sharing the views, the ship, the ports, the food, the excursions, and all the little details that can help YOU decide if an Alaska cruise belongs on your bucket list. 👀

From glaciers and mountains to wildlife and those jaw-dropping Inside Passage views… I have a feeling this is going to be one unforgettable week. 🏔️🧊🐋

So tell me… would you rather see Alaska from the deck of a cruise ship or explore it by land? 👇🏻

Follow along — we’re Alaska bound! ✈️➡️🚢❄️
