Some journeys can’t be found in a guidebook.

This season, I’ve been designing escapes for those who want to go beyond the obvious, sailing Four Seasons II’s maiden Adriatic voyage from Venice to Dubrovnik, with hilltop San Marino and sunset wine in Krk along the way.

For those drawn north, sauna rituals under Arctic skies at Skýra Retreat in Finnish Lapland. For those chasing the far south, a restored WWII-era plane flying into corners of Peru and Patagonia no commercial flight can reach.

For a slower pace, hand-harvesting wasabi beneath Mount Iwate in rural Japan, an exclusive 1930s Pullman carriage for twelve, or mornings on Maine’s Kennebunk River aboard a floating retreat far from the well-trodden path.

Six ways to travel. One philosophy: the extraordinary is always just beyond the guidebook.

Our room sits inside the borgo itself, in one of the stone houses the Ferragamos spent years bringing back from ruin, which means the walls are thick, the ceilings are beamed, and the light comes in slow and gold through the same shuttered windows that have been framing these Tuscan hills for centuries. The interior is quiet — linen, terracotta, a few well-chosen antiques — it matches the landscape outside. It’s the rare luxury property where the story predates the hotel by about eight hundred years, and the room lets you feel the authenticity of its history without sacrificing modern luxury.

There’s a version of Croatia only the water reveals.

I’ve designed three private yacht journeys along the Adriatic, each shaped around the way you love to travel:

History & calm: kayak beneath Dubrovnik’s medieval walls, swim Mljet’s saltwater lakes, sail on to Korčula for a private tasting of Grk, a rare grape grown almost nowhere else.

Wine & sun: anchor off Hvar for glitzy marinas and olive-grove sunsets, tuck into hidden coves in the Pakleni Islands, discover Vis, untouched, unhurried and closed to visitors until 1989.

Slow food days: cruise to Rovinj’s pastel harbour, sail on for truffle hunting in Motovun’s ancient oaks, taste Istrian Malvasia straight from the vine.

Three routes, one Adriatic, endlessly customisable. Message me and let’s chart your Croatian escape.

Luxury used to be measured by what you owned.

Today, it’s measured by something far more valuable: your time.

The time to sit through a three-hour lunch overlooking Lake Como. To watch elephants cross the Okavango Delta from your private deck. To sail at sunrise in Mallorca, disconnect on a private island in the Seychelles, embrace the ease of Antigua, or discover a slower rhythm of life in Bhutan.

The greatest luxury isn’t doing more. It’s having the freedom to do less, and making every moment count.

Here are six extraordinary escapes where time becomes the ultimate indulgence.

Which would you choose first?

Cambodia is often spoken about through a handful of highlights. In reality, it’s a journey of contrasts, where ancient temples, island coastlines and dense rainforest reveal themselves differently when travelled in the right order.

This 14 day journey moves from Bangkok to Siem Reap, Krabey Island, the Cardamom Mountains and Phnom Penh, with stays across some of the region’s most exceptional hotels.

If Cambodia is on your list, message me to shape a journey around you.
