Everyone at one time or another has marveled at the beautiful reds, oranges, blues & purple colors of a sunrise or sunset. Although these colorful skies can be seen anywhere, certain parts of the world are especially famous for their beautiful hues. The tropics quickly come to mind. The colors are especially warm and restful and can easily be brought into your home by adding colorful accessories and/or paint colors that remind us of these beautiful skies.

Traditionally, the “sunburst” mirror was attributed to King Louis XIV of France, who history refers to as the self-styled “Sun King”. King Louis XIV chose the “Sun” as his iconic emblem, due to his intense love of the sun and its powerful rays. Although the true origin of the sunburst mirror is somewhat unclear, it is also said that it did not make an appearance during King Louis XIV reign. What is clear is that the mirror has been around, enhancing interiors, for centuries and is back in full swing!
