Do as I say, not as I did!!

Yesterday I left San Diego at 7:40 am to fly to Edinburgh. I had a connection in JFK and my layover was 5 hours. Add the time zone change and here I am Saturday at 9:30 am getting into Scotland.

I hadn’t slept well the night before because for some reasons I always think my alarm won’t go off and I will miss my flight. And honestly I rarely need an alarm.

Then I flew and didn’t sleep more than 3 hours. Jeff picked me up. I got a much needed shower and breakfast. Then I said I am going to sleep. He reminded me to not sleep too long and set an alarm. Of course I did, but in Maddy fashion I slept much longer than planned. My alarm went off, I read a few pages on my kindle and was too sleepy. Went back to bed, woke up and it was 4:30. Jeff should not have left me unattended 😂.

I went for a walk in this beautiful country while Jeff was golfing. I forgot just how beautiful and green Scotland truly is.

Now let’s pray I sleep tonight. I always tell my clients if you must sleep, make it a short nap. 💤 This way you can adjust to the time change more easily.

I am so grateful for opportunities to learn more and to connect with our partners and fellow travel advisors. The ASTA - American Society of Travel Advisors conference was a success. I was able to meet and learn from like minded people.

I am leaving a day earlier than the rest but my mind is full of ideas and ways to improve my travel business and my heart is full.

I love spending time with my sweet friend and colleague Chrissy Vick!! She has a heart of gold and is always willing to share a room and go on adventures with me. I love our in room chats. Love her so much!! ❤️ I was also able to fill my cup, visit, laugh and dance with Barbara Hymowitz Aukzemas, Becky Leonard Brandyberry and Megan Love! We had a good time. Thanks for a great few days!!
