Winter travel heads up ❄️✈️

A major winter storm is expected to impact much of the eastern two-thirds of the U.S. this weekend, and airlines are already issuing travel advisories and waivers.

What that means for travelers flying Friday–Sunday:
• Flight delays and cancellations are possible even if your airport looks clear
• Afternoon flights are more likely to be disrupted due to ripple effects
• Several airlines (including Delta, American, and United) are allowing fee-free rebooking under travel waivers
• Morning flights tend to have fewer issues

✨ Pro tips:
• Check your flight before heading to the airport
• Download your airline’s app and turn alerts on
• Use Flighty or FlightAware to track your plane — they often show delays early

Travel may still happen — it just requires flexibility and a game plan 🤍

Big-box booking works… until it doesn’t.

✈️ How to Get TSA PreCheck (Because Airport Chaos Is Not the Vibe)

If you travel even once a year, TSA PreCheck is worth it. Here’s how to do it without overthinking:

Step 1: Go to the official TSA PreCheck site and apply online
Application takes about 5 minutes

Step 2: Schedule your in-person appointment
Most locations are inside Staples, airports, or enrollment centers
Appointment usually takes 10–15 minutes

Step 3: Bring required documents
✔️ Passport OR
✔️ Driver’s license + birth certificate

Step 4: Pay the fee
💲 $78 for 5 years (many credit cards reimburse this)

Step 5: Wait for approval
Usually 3–5 days, sometimes faster
Your Known Traveler Number (KTN) will be emailed to you

Step 6: Add your KTN to airline profiles
This is the part people forget 👀
Once added, TSA PreCheck shows on your boarding pass

✨ No shoes off
✨ No laptop out
✨ No liquids drama
✨ Shorter lines, calmer mornings

Most trips only require a small deposit to get started, and you can pay the rest over time instead of all at once later.

A great question came up in my private group, so I wanted to share it here too.

I was asked: “How far in advance should we start planning/booking a vacation?”

The answer is: As soon as you can. The earlier, the better!

Why? Booking early often means securing your trip with a deposit, better availability, and more flexibility. The most popular resorts, ships, and room or cabin categories book up first, especially for peak travel times like summer and holidays. Starting early simply gives you the best options.
