Armenia has been recognized as Europe’s Leading Heritage Destination at the World Travel Awards 2025, according to the country’s Tourism Committee.

The announcement was made during the prestigious World Travel Awards 2025 ceremony, where Armenia received the top honor in the heritage tourism category.

In a statement, the Tourism Committee said the recognition highlights Armenia’s rich cultural legacy, centuries-old history, and distinctive heritage, which continue to attract visitors from around the world.

“This recognition once again underscores Armenia’s rich cultural heritage, centuries-old history, and unique values,” the committee noted, adding that the country’s historical and cultural landmarks remain a source of inspiration for international travelers.

The committee also called for continued efforts to promote Armenia’s heritage globally. “Let us continue together to open new horizons and present our history in a way that becomes a source of inspiration, connection, and shared experience for the whole world,” the statement said.

The World Travel Awards are widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honors in the global tourism industry, recognizing excellence across various sectors of travel and hospitality.
