Mrs. Sallie: Nanny/Babysitter

Mrs. Sallie: Nanny/Babysitter *Experienced Care Giver Available for Full Time and Part Time Work* Hello! My name is Sallie. I am currently looking for work as a day nanny.

I have eight years of babysitting experience, including having previously been a live in nanny, and live out nanny, as well as working in children's ministry, and the nursery at my church. In the future I hope to open a home day care, but that is not possible at this time.

Had a little Halloween Party with some of my favourite munchkins. First we dressed up in costumes and ate some tasty treats with punch. Then we cooked up a witch's brew in a big plastic black cauldron. We had intestines (colored slimey spaghetti), gummy eyeballs, severed fingers, and brains. We also had green mystery goo (runny lime jello), some black glitter, and to make it boil and bubble, viniger and baking soda. We even played some creepy music while we added the various ingredients and stirred it up with our hands.

Cardboard "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?" Game. Young toddlers stick the snowman parts in the right place on to the board with tape or sticky tack. Older children are blindfolded and spun around similar to Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Fun if you have seen the movie Frozen or not.

Black glue and water color art. I made black glue by adding black acrylic paint to a glue bottle. Then we outlined printed out color pages with the black glue. It takes 24 hours to dry. Then we painted the outlined pictures with water colors. It is a beautiful effect.. 7 year old helped outline the pictures, 7 year old, 2 year old, and 1 year old all painted their own pictures with water color. Then 7 year old drew a picture and outlined it to paint later.

1 year old, 2 year old, and 7 year old sprayed coffee filters with colored water. We laid them out to dry. Then secured them to plastic spoons with colored pipe cleaners to make beautiful butterflies. They had fun making them "fly" around the room.

The bumblebee was made by a two year old and a one year old made the lady bug. For the bee I covered parts of the paper plate with construction paper and the two year old painted the uncovered part, then I moved the construction paper and repeated the process. The one year old painted the whole plate red and then glued on construction paper and googly eyes.

I cut up jumbo/milkshake straws to make toddler friendly beads. We used pipe cleaners since they are easier to thread. The one and two year old liked making a braclet, pulling it apart, collecting the scattered pieces, and remaking it. The seven year old expiremented with patterns by twisted different color pipe cleaners together and threading the beads on to only one of the pipe cleaners so that they stayed in place.

Introduced the concept of mosaics with glass stones and airdry clay. I looked into tiles but descided to use the smooth rounded stones which are safe for little hands. The little one had to be watched very closely since they are a choking hazard. I let her take one stone at a time and she did very well. She stuck some of her stones into the clay sideways which I think creates an interesting contrast.

Milk carton monsters! The one with the green nose was made by a two year old. The one with the pink nose was a group project created by a one year old, two year old, and seven year old working together. I think they turned out fabulously. I explained to the children that these were alphabet monsters. They eat letters of the alphabet, and you have to spell out words with plastic alphabet letters to feed them. We waited for them to dry before feeding them T-A-S-T-Y snacks.
