Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in NY. Author Washington Irving is buried there, and this is also the location that inspired his story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The Old Dutch Church mentioned in the story is on the cemetery grounds, and so is a replica of the bridge that the Headless Horseman rides across. Legend says the Headless Horseman tethers his horse nightly amongst the graves in this churchyard. This story has always been one of my favorites, and visiting the cemetery sparked a great amount of joy for my inner child.

Made a quick stop at Stephen King’s house in Bangor, Maine. Check out the fence and gate. So cool!

Standin’ on the corner of Winslow, Arizona…such a fine sight to see. Did you sing that when you read it?? 😉 If you’re on a road trip down Route 66 you have to make a stop in Winslow, AZ, a town made famous by The Eagles’ hit song Take It Easy. A nice town to stretch your legs, get some lunch, and pick up a few souvenirs.
