BREAKING DISNEY NEWS: A Great Big Beautiful Update is Coming! 🎶✨
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is getting ready for its next chapter at Magic Kingdom, and this is a BIG one.
Disney has announced that the beloved Tomorrowland classic will be temporarily unavailable beginning July 6, 2026, with plans to reopen in 2027. When it returns, guests can expect a refreshed version of the attraction that honors its history while moving the story forward.
The updated show will feature Walt Disney himself as an Audio-Animatronic figure, appearing in a scene inspired by the 1964 special Disneyland Goes to the World’s Fair. The family’s story will also move into new eras, including the 1960s, 1980s, New Year’s Eve 1999, and the possible future.
And yes — “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” will continue to be part of the show. 🎵
This attraction has always been about progress, optimism, innovation, and family, so it feels fitting that Carousel of Progress is continuing to evolve for a new generation of Disney guests.
This is definitely one of those updates Disney fans will have a lot of feelings about.
