The wait is over! 🇯🇲❤️💛💚 All packed up and picked up some goodies for our upcoming Jamaica Day at Green Island Library and Primary School! 🎒📚✨

We’ll be rolling up our sleeves to help build and paint benches, spend time reading with the students, and give back to the beautiful island hosting us. ❤️🌴

🚢 I’M GOING ON MY FIRST CRUISE! 🌊✨

As a travel advisor, I’ve helped SO many clients plan cruises… but now it’s finally my turn next month! 😂

Since this is my first cruise, I’ve been doing my research, asking questions and learning all the little things that I didn’t know before.

So here are a few first-time cruiser tips I’ve learned along the way 👇

✈️ Arrive a day early
If you’re flying to the cruise port, give yourself a buffer! Delays happen, and the ship won’t wait.

🧳 Keep the important stuff in your carry-on
Medications, passport/travel documents, swimsuit, sunscreen, and anything you’ll need before your luggage arrives.

📱 Download the cruise line’s app
You’ll use it for activities, dining, reservations, schedules, announcements, and more.

⏰ Pay attention to SHIP TIME
When you’re in port, always know what time the ship says it is. You do NOT want to be the person running down the pier! 😂

🚢 Give yourself plenty of time to get back onboard
If you’re exploring on your own, don’t cut it close. All-aboard time is serious!

🍽️ Make reservations early
Specialty restaurants, excursions, shows, and certain activities can book up quickly.

💊 Be prepared for motion sickness
Even if you’ve never gotten seasick before, it’s better to have something with you just in case.

📵 Airplane mode is your friend
Avoid surprise cell phone charges while at sea and check out the ship’s Wi-Fi options.

💰 Know what’s included
Cruises include a LOT, but things like specialty dining, Wi-Fi, excursions, drinks, and spa treatments may cost extra.

👟 Bring comfortable shoes!
Apparently, you walk A LOT more than you think you will. 😂

🌊 DON’T TRY TO DO EVERYTHING
There is always something happening onboard. Pick the things you really want to do and leave time to relax and enjoy the ocean.
