God is still writing your story…..
Twelve years ago, I lost my most precious gift — my only child. In that season, I did not only experience loss; I lost the will to live. Each day I prayed that God would allow me to go to sleep until the resurrection, when He would come to gather His people. The pain felt endless, and my heart carried a grief so heavy that I could not imagine a future beyond it.
For months I existed in survival mode — waking up but not truly living, breathing but feeling empty inside. Everywhere I looked, all I could see were dark clouds and unanswered questions. I could not understand why God would allow me to remain when the deepest desire of my heart had been taken.
Then one day, in the middle of my brokenness, I made a decision that changed the course of my life.
I chose His will over my own.
I prayed:
“Lord, I do not understand why You still want me here, but the fact that You continue to wake me each morning must mean that You still have purpose for my life. I surrender. Even though I cannot see the road ahead… even though the pain feels unbearable… I choose to trust You.”
That day, I placed my hand in His.
And slowly… God began to breathe life into places I thought had died forever.
Today, twelve years later, I celebrate life.
I celebrate love.
I celebrate healing.
I celebrate purpose.
I celebrate the beautiful future God continued writing when I thought my story had ended.
If you are standing in a season of darkness and cannot see beyond your pain, let this remind you:
He is still writing your story.
Keep rising. 🤍
