🇹🇹Happy 64th Independence Day, Trinidad and Tobago!🇹🇹

Today, we proudly celebrate 64 years of independence—a moment to honour our nation’s journey, our rich heritage, and the resilient spirit of our people.

From our beautiful cultural traditions and vibrant celebrations to the warmth, creativity, and determination of our citizens, Trinidad and Tobago remains a nation filled with remarkable beauty and potential. Although we may face challenges, we must never lose hope in our ability to rise, rebuild, and create a brighter future together.

Independence is more than freedom from colonial rule. It is also the responsibility to build a society rooted in unity, compassion, integrity, justice, and respect. Each of us has a role to play in shaping the country we desire—one in which every woman, man, and child can feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.

As we raise our national flag, let us remember the sacrifices of those who helped pave the way for our freedom. Let us also recommit ourselves to being responsible citizens who uplift one another, protect the vulnerable, and contribute positively to our communities.

May we look beyond our differences and embrace the strength found in our diversity. Together, let us continue working toward a Trinidad and Tobago where hope is renewed, dreams are possible, and every citizen has an opportunity to flourish.

May God bless our beautiful twin-island republic and guide us toward greater unity, peace, progress, and prosperity.

Happy 64th Independence Day, Trinidad and Tobago! 🇹🇹

A Day of Appreciation 💜

Sometimes we need to pause and honor the women who have quietly poured into the lives of others for years.

Jacinth Woman Foundation had the privilege of sponsoring a Women’s Appreciation Day—a day of empowerment, gratitude, and celebration for 150 women in our faith community, recognizing their contribution and the many ways they have served and impacted others over the years.

Each woman received a special gift bag as a simple reminder that she was seen, valued, and appreciated.

But one of the most beautiful moments came when we invited the women to think of another woman in the faith community who had personally impacted their lives.

We provided gift boxes for them to present to those women as their own expression of gratitude.

Watching one woman honor another was beautiful.

Some women serve for years without ever knowing the depth of the impact they have made. Sometimes it only takes a moment of appreciation to remind someone that her kindness, prayers, encouragement, service, and presence have mattered.

At Jacinth Woman Foundation, we believe women should not only be supported in difficult seasons. They should also be celebrated in the seasons when they are pouring into others.

Because every woman deserves to know that she is seen, appreciated, and valuable beyond measure.

“For the first time in a long time, my children and I truly felt at home”.

When we heard those words from a courageous mother, we were reminded that sometimes the greatest gift isn’t simply providing household items—it is helping restore hope.

When Michelle and her three children—an 11-year-old daughter and two young sons, ages 9 and 4—began rebuilding their lives, they had a place to live, but many of the essentials that make a house feel like a home were still missing.

At the Jacinth Woman Foundation, we believe no family should have to rebuild alone.

Together with the generosity of our supporters and the partnership of another caring organization, we helped transform their apartment into a warm and welcoming home. A refrigerator, television, stove, beds, rugs, a study desk, clothing organizers, and other household essentials helped create a space where this family could begin again.

We also provided clothing for the family and food hampers over several months, helping to ease the burden during this season of rebuilding.

Recognizing that healing extends beyond physical needs, we invited members of our community to walk alongside this family. A social worker and a medical professional generously volunteered their time and continue to provide encouragement, guidance, and support.

Later, we had the privilege of celebrating this remarkable mother at a Mother’s Day event—a reminder that every woman deserves to be seen, valued, and honored.

Her story reminds us that restoration is about more than meeting practical needs.

It is about restoring dignity.

It is about building community.

It is about reminding a mother and her children that they are not alone.

To everyone who has supported the Jacinth Woman Foundation, thank you. Your kindness is helping families begin again, one story at a time.

Because when we help restore a home, we help restore hope.💜

And when you are not welcomed at their table, remember this: God has given you the strength, wisdom, and ability to build your own—and the grace to create space for others to rise with you.

Our Journey Begins🌸

Every mission has a beginning.

Three years ago, Jacinth Woman Foundation made its very first community sponsorship at a Mother’s Day celebration. We had the privilege of honoring 65 incredible women with tokens of appreciation, celebrating their strength, resilience, and value.

As part of this special day, we also sponsored a relaxing spa facial for one woman—a simple reminder that every woman deserves moments of care, rest, and renewal.

Looking back, this wasn’t just about gift boxes or sponsorships. It was about planting the first seed of a vision: to create a community where women are seen, supported, encouraged, and empowered.

Today, as we share these memories for the first time, we are reminded that every act of kindness matters. What began with one opportunity to serve has grown into a continuing mission to help women to know that they are, “valuable beyond measure”

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. This is only the beginning, and we look forward to sharing more stories of how God has been leading Jacinth Woman Foundation over the years.

When you heal the wounds within, confront your doubts, and learn to stand securely in who you are, the attacks from the outside lose their power.

When there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do us no harm.

Protect your peace.
Choose your joy.
Guard your heart.
Take responsibility for your healing.
And never give anyone the power to decide whether you will be happy.

Your happiness is too valuable to be placed in someone else’s hands.

Prov 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

When a Woman’s Life Is Taken, We Must Not Stay Silent

Today, our hearts are heavy.

A woman has lost her life in Tobago. A daughter, a friend, a worker, a church woman, a deaconess, a woman with purpose, value, and breath that God gave her. Her name was Neisha Roberts, and while the full details are still before the authorities, her death has shaken many of us deeply.

But grief must not only bring tears. Grief must awaken truth.

Too many women are staying in situations that are slowly destroying them because they have been taught to endure what they should have escaped. Too many women are calling pain “love,” control “concern,” jealousy “passion,” and disrespect “a rough season.” Too many women are trapped in relationships, situationships, friendships, and attachments where their peace is being stolen, their confidence is being broken, and their safety is being threatened.

Woman, hear me clearly: you are valuable beyond measure.

You are not valuable only when someone chooses you.
You are not valuable only when a man validates you.
You are not valuable only when you are loved correctly.
You were valuable before the relationship.
You are valuable inside the confusion.
You are valuable even when you are trying to find the strength to walk away.

Love should not leave you afraid.
Love should not make you feel trapped.
Love should not threaten your life, your peace, your mind, your body, or your future.

If a relationship makes you feel like you are constantly walking on eggshells, pay attention. If he threatens you when you try to leave, pay attention. If he monitors your movements, isolates you from family, controls your money, insults you, humiliates you, pushes you, hits you, or makes you feel unsafe, do not ignore the signs.

And please understand this: leaving an unsafe relationship is not weakness. It is wisdom. It is not failure. It is self-preservation. It is not ungodly to protect the life God gave you.

The Bible says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. That means your life carries divine value. Your body is not a battlefield. Your home should not be a place of terror. Your heart was not created to survive constant fear.

We must also stop asking women, “Why didn’t she just leave?” and start asking, “How can we help her leave safely?” Many women are afraid, financially dependent, emotionally broken, ashamed, threatened, or isolated. Some are trying to leave quietly. Some do not know who to trust. Some have been made to believe no one will believe them.

So today, this is a call to women and to the community.

Woman, do not wait until the situation gets worse before you take it seriously. Speak to someone you trust. Make a safety plan. Keep copies of important documents. Save emergency numbers. Tell someone where you are. Do not announce your departure to someone who may harm you. Get help quietly and safely.

And to families, churches, neighbours, and friends: take women seriously when they say they are afraid. Do not send them back into danger with religious phrases and no protection. Do not tell them to pray and endure abuse. Pray, yes — but also help them find safety. God values life.

Neisha’s death must not become just another headline. It must become a holy interruption. A reminder that women’s lives matter. A reminder that silence can be dangerous. A reminder that love is not supposed to cost a woman her life.

To every woman reading this: you are not stuck. You are not disposable. You are not hard to love. You are not called to die in a place God is trying to deliver you from.

Choose safety.
Choose healing.
Choose life.
Choose you.
