When it comes to Hawaii planning can be complicated. Before determining which island or islands to explore, there is the decision of how to experience the destination.
Depending on preference, a family can have a travel agent customize an itinerary for their trip, for example – Flying into and staying half of the trip in Honolulu and another part staying in Maui. Since Honolulu has a larger airport than Maui, I would recommend staying in Honolulu the night prior to the flight home.
If a more structured trip is more appealing, there is the option of a cruise or a guided tour.
A cruise, whether it is an inter-island cruise or a starting point for a cruise, can permit a family to explore multiple locations without the need to unpack. Plus, everything that would be included in a vacation would be available in one place: accommodations, transportation between destinations, dining, entertainment, and places for kids and adults to relax/have fun.
Guided tours are also ideal for families – transportation throughout the trip, stops at attractions, meals planned throughout the tour, accommodations already selected, and dedicated tour director (makes sure the tour runs smoothly). In other words, all you and your family need to do is show up for the tour.
