UPDATE: Zanzibar Period Poverty & Hygiene Giveback 🩸
We are beyond thrilled to share some incredible progress for the 65 students at our partner all girls school. Thanks to your radical generosity, we’ve hit some major milestones, but the journey to full health and hygiene continues!
What we’ve accomplished together:
• Period Poverty Solutions: Every single girl is receiving 6 reusable pads that will last for 3 years!
• Stateside Support: A huge shoutout to Lola, a US-based company, for sponsoring 1,000 disposable pads to ensure no girl misses school due to her cycle.
• The Power of Play: We purchased a brand-new volleyball net and balls! Seeing the girls finally get to play and just be kids will be everything.
👉🏾The Next Milestone: The Well 💧
Having pads is a massive win, but it’s only half the battle. Without running water, maintaining hygiene, especially during a period, is an uphill struggle.
Water is a basic human right. We are currently raising $2,000 to complete the school’s well. This will provide the girls with running water for proper showers, cleaning, and daily health.
