How does six weeks fly by so quickly? When you’re spending it with chosen family, it goes by in a flash! We have had the best time having family dinners, playing board games, watching soccer, seeing performances, laughing, playing so much Mario Kart, and just generally enjoying spending time with each other.

An absolutely perfect 36 hours in Puget Sound!

🎭 Phantom of the Opera at our beloved Paramount Theater.

🌺 Wandering through the Rhododendron Garden at Point Defiance Park. There is truly nothing that feels more like home than blooming rhodys amongst the moss covered trees.

🌊 A short stroll at our favorite place on the planet, Owen’s Beach. And though the mountain wasn’t out, we got to watch some seals play and hunt.

This short trip whet our appetites for another Puget Sound summer! It’s so good to be enjoying our home state!!

We got to meet !

Ben and Katie have been inspiring us with their travel content for years, so it was such a treat to get to meet them for coffee and a stroll through Drake Park while we were in Bend! We enjoyed chatting about our lives and our travels and meeting their sweet daughters as well. They are exactly as authentic and warm in real life as they seem on the internet. 💗

One of the best parts of home is seeing friends!

I took the short drive to my home town to attend a forum and ask my US Representative how he’s best serving WA-5. Many thanks to my high school friend, Aaron, for taking a break from planting to come comment on the needs of farmers. He is able to articulate the joys and difficulties of farming better than anyone I’ve met.

We had a great lunch and took a quick picture to prove we were in the same place. It was a great day.
