5 Facts about

Shahrisabz is a historic city in southern Uzbekistan, located about 90 kilometers south of Samarkand. It is the birthplace of Amir Timur (Tamerlane), the famous conqueror who founded the Timurid Empire in the 14th century.

The city is known for its beautiful Timurid architecture, especially the remains of Ak-Saray Palace, which once stood as a grand symbol of Timur’s power. Other important sites include the Dorut Tilovat and Dor-us Siyadat complexes, which contain mausoleums of Timur's family members and important religious figures.

Shahrisabz is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a peaceful atmosphere, historical charm, and a glimpse into Central Asia’s rich cultural past.
