Jaloliddin Manguberdi Train: Important Update for Travellers

In May 2026, Uzbekistan launched the new high-speed train Jaloliddin Manguberdi, connecting Tashkent with Khiva. The route is an important development for railway travel in Uzbekistan and is especially relevant for visitors following the classic itinerary: Tashkent – Samarkand – Bukhara – Khiva.

The train was manufactured by Hyundai Rotem in South Korea and introduced as a modern and comfortable solution for long-distance travel across Uzbekistan. According to official information, the train consists of seven carriages and has a capacity of approximately 389 passengers. The planned journey time between Tashkent and Khiva is around 7.5 hours, which is a major improvement compared with previous rail options.

However, shortly after its launch, the train service was temporarily suspended due to a technical issue. Based on the current operational information available to us, the train is awaiting the replacement of a required technical component before regular service can resume.

For travellers, this means that possible schedule changes should be taken into account when planning journeys to or from Khiva. We are closely monitoring the situation and recommend checking the latest confirmed timetable and ticket availability before making travel arrangements.

At the moment, alternative travel options may be used on routes between Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, including other train services, domestic flights or private road transfers, depending on the itinerary, season and ticket availability.

Despite this temporary technical interruption, the launch of the Jaloliddin Manguberdi train remains an important step in the development of Uzbekistan’s tourism infrastructure. Once the service resumes, it is expected to make travel to Khiva faster, more comfortable and more attractive for international visitors.

The world has quietly fallen for someone new.
His name is Punch.

A small figure clutching a plush toy —
not as a prop, but as protection.
When you’re that little, comfort becomes armor.

So we asked a simple question.

What if Punch had been left in Uzbekistan?

He wouldn’t stay alone for fifteen minutes.

An oyi would wave him over.
Tea would steam in a blue ceramic cup.
Warm non would be torn by hand and placed in front of him —
not as food, but as invitation.

Two hours later, the bazaar would be calling him by name.
Merchants grinning.
Children circling him.
Laughter rising like afternoon heat.

By the next day, ota would be tuning a dutar.
Strings humming under the open sky.
A courtyard turning into a stage.

Then come the customs.
The long stories.
The slow meals.
The plov that gathers everyone closer to the same table.

And somewhere between turquoise tiles and the scent of fresh bread,
he stops being “the abandoned one.”

He becomes someone’s guest.
Then someone’s responsibility.
Then simply — family.

Because here, distance closes fast.
Bread is shared.
Space is made.
Names are remembered.

Watch closely.

You won’t see pity.
You’ll see belonging.

And if he ever feels small again,
there will be voices around him saying:

we’re here
sit with us
you’re not alone

In Uzbekistan,
home finds you. 💚

🇬🇧 Not a hotel.
Not luxury.
Just silence, altitude, and a sky you forgot still exists. ✨

This is Maydanak Observatory, Uzbekistan — where nights are darker, stars are closer, and time slows down.
A simple guesthouse. Basic conditions.
But when you step outside…
the universe turns on its lights. 🌌

No filters. No city glow.
Just millions of stars above your head.

Would you spend a night here?
