Back in 2000, our Principal’s father, Shampoo, had the pleasure of meeting Maddie McCarthy and her family while serving as their taxi driver during their stay in the BVI.

At the time, our Principal, Riiah, was just 7 years old and then again at 10- witnessing firsthand the kind of connections that leave a lasting impression.

Fast forward 23 years to April 2nd, 2026, and they returned to the BVI with one goal in mind: to reconnect with the people who made their trip feel like home - Shampoo, Riiah, and Mitchie.

That experience helped shape Riiah’s journey, giving her early insight into the hospitality industry and the power of genuine human connection. It’s a reminder that hospitality goes beyond service - it’s about building relationships that stand the test of time.

Come as guests, leave as family. ❤️

P.S. Riiah was truly moved seeing a photo taken back in 2003 with her dad, her beloved brother, and herself - captured by Maddie. She couldn’t believe it had been kept safe all these years.

British Traders Group Limited is proud to share that our Principal, Ms. Riiah Durante, served as Event Coordinator and was pleased to work alongside the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission team in delivering the highly successful International Institute of Communications (IIC) Caribbean Chapter Meeting hosted in Destination BVI at the beautiful Peter Island Resort on February 25th, 2026 & February 26th, 2026.

The event brought together distinguished regional and international leaders, regulators, and industry experts for meaningful dialogue on the future of technology, tourism, finance, and resilient communications across the Caribbean.

The high level of engagement, insightful discussions, and collaborative spirit demonstrated throughout the meeting highlighted the British Virgin Islands’ capacity to host impactful global conversations and reaffirmed the importance of regional cooperation and forward-thinking regulation in shaping a digitally empowered and resilient Caribbean.

We are honoured to have contributed to such a significant gathering and look forward to continued collaboration that advances innovation and connectivity throughout the region.
