According to Vietnamese tradition, the first full moon of the lunar year is considered the most important festival of the year by many families, no less significant than Tet (Lunar New Year). Besides visiting temples to pray for peace, elaborate preparations are also made for offerings at home.
The offerings usually include vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, along with incense, flowers, and candles, symbolizing purity. Many families also prepare glutinous rice balls in sweet soup as a way of expressing their wishes for a prosperous and smooth new year 🙏🙏🙏
