At 79 years old, she still works from morning until late into the night, selling bánh on the street to support the two grandchildren she has raised for over 20 years.

One of them is only 13 and currently battling cancer.

Even on slow nights, she stays out until 2 or 3 a.m. without complaint. When there’s fish or meat, it goes to her grandchildren. She quietly eats vegetables, grateful for another day to provide for them.

Her story is a reminder that the purest love is often found in silent sacrifice.

Saigon and Hanoi just ranked among the world’s Top 100 walkable cities in 2026 by GuruWalk.

Hanoi stands out with its Old Quarter and Hoàn Kiếm Lake. Saigon brings street life, cafés, markets, and nonstop energy - all within walking distance.

Another sign that Vietnam is becoming a global hotspot for immersive travel.

So… should more Vietnamese cities make the list? If yes, which one?

🚨Vietnam Announces New 5-Year Visa Program Starting in 2026

Vietnam is taking another major step toward attracting global talent.

The National Assembly has officially approved changes to the country’s immigration policy, including the introduction of two new visa categories that will take effect on July 1, 2026:

✔️ UT1 Visa
✔️ UT2 Visa

These new visa categories are expected to be available for:

• High-tech professionals
• Highly skilled workers
• Researchers and international experts
• Eligible family members accompanying specially incentivized workers

⏳ Qualified applicants may be granted visas valid for up to 5 years, creating new opportunities for long-term living and employment in Vietnam.

The move is part of Vietnam’s broader strategy to:

📌 Attract world-class talent
📌 Accelerate digital transformation and high-tech growth
📌 Strengthen the country’s investment and business environment
📌 Enhance Vietnam’s competitiveness in the region

⚠️ Details regarding eligibility requirements, application procedures, sponsorship criteria, and required documentation have not yet been released and are expected in upcoming government guidance.

This could become one of Vietnam’s most significant visa reforms in recent years as the country continues positioning itself as a hub for innovation, technology, and international business.

If Vietnam offered you a 5-year visa tomorrow, would you move here? Why or why not? 👇

In Vietnam, death doesn’t mean goodbye - it means remembrance. That’s why every home has an altar.

It’s a quiet space for the people who came before us - the ones who worked hard, sacrificed everything and built the life we have today. We don’t forget them… we keep them close.

You’ll see photos, incense smoke, fruit, tea, and even their favourite meals placed as offerings. When we light incense, it’s a way of connecting Heaven, Earth, and people in between.

Some even burn symbolic items, believed to still “provide” for loved ones in another world. And meals are still cooked in their honour - shared as a family, just like before.

It’s not about loss. It’s about a connection that never really breaks.

🇻🇳 Vietnamese street food is more than just a meal - it’s a whole experience.

From sizzling grills on busy street corners to steaming bowls of noodles prepared right in front of you, every dish tells a story. The beauty of Vietnamese street food is its incredible variety. Whether it’s crispy bánh xèo, flavorful bún thịt nướng, fresh gỏi cuốn or a comforting bowl of phở, there’s something for everyone.

What makes it even more special is the culture behind it. Many recipes have been passed down through generations and most dishes are made fresh to order right before your eyes. You can watch the ingredients being prepared, hear the sounds of the cooking and smell the incredible aromas filling the streets. It’s authentic, local and full of character.

In Vietnam, some of the best food isn’t found inside fancy restaurants - it’s tucked away on sidewalks, hidden in alleyways and served from small family-run stalls that locals have been visiting for years.

Now we want to hear from you! 👇

🍜 What’s your favorite Vietnamese dish?
🤔 Have you tried Vietnamese street food before?
🔥 Which food would you love to try next?

Drop your answers in the comments and let’s talk food! 🇻🇳😋

Hidden deep in a Saigon alley… this so called “Vietnamese hot dog” might just be the city’s best 15K snacks. Run by two young teens who recently reopened after shutting down during COVID, this tiny takeaway spot is easy to miss - but hard to forget once you find it. You’ve got to eat it right away, straight off the grill, because it turns soggy within minutes.

Think crispy toasted bread with a light crunch on the outside and soft inside, loaded with wild toppings you wouldn’t expect together: pork floss, pâté, sausage, cheese, salted egg yolk… even chocolate if you’re feeling adventurous.

Another hidden gem unlocked in Saigon 😎

🇦🇺 Australian Tourist Detained After Alleged Café Rampage in Da Nang

What began as a normal evening in Da Nang quickly turned chaotic when an Australian tourist allegedly caused significant damage inside a local café.

Videos circulating online appear to show the man smashing furniture and glass while customers rushed to leave the area. Police arrived shortly afterward and detained him at the scene.

The café estimates losses of nearly VND 500 million and several customers also reported damage to personal belongings, including laptops and mobile phones. Authorities say the man appeared to be experiencing signs of mental distress and the investigation remains ongoing.

The woman in the last photo is the owner of Gé Cafe, standing quietly inside the business she worked so hard to build. Beyond the financial losses are years of dedication, long hours, sacrifice and a dream that helped create a welcoming space for both locals and visitors. The café has also provided jobs and supported the livelihoods of many people in the community.

Vietnam welcomes millions of visitors each year and the vast majority leave with wonderful memories and positive experiences. Wherever we travel, we are guests and showing respect for local people, businesses, and culture helps make destinations better for everyone.

We hope Gé Cafe receives the support it needs from the community and is able to recover stronger in the months ahead. ❤️

❓What are your thoughts on this situation?

Dating in Vietnam starts innocent with “anh yêu” and “anh” - soft, romantic, safe choices 😂 Then a few months later somehow you’ve evolved into “heo,” “đồ đáng ghét,” or “ông xã” like you already signed marriage papers. If she’s really flirting, you’ll hear things like “anh iu,” “cục vàng của em,” or even “soái ca” to make you feel like the main character.

But the real relationship stage begins when she starts calling you “ông tướng” or “đồ ăn hại” during fake arguments And if you ever get promoted to “cục nợ”… congratulations bro, you’re no longer a boyfriend - you’re a lifetime responsibility now 😂
