The annual festival dedicated to national hero Nguyแป…n Trung Trแปฑc in Kiรชn Giang Provinceโ€™s Rแบกch Giรก City was recognised as a national intangible cultural heritage, will be held in Rach Gia City in the Mekong Delta Province of Kien Giang on 28-30/9/2024 (the 156th death anniversary)

The Nguyแป…n Trung Trแปฑc Temple Festival began in 1891 to honour Nguyแป…n Trung Trแปฑc and his supporters as well as people involved in his uprising against the French in the middle of the 19th century.

Nguyแป…n Trung Trแปฑc (1839-1868) was the leader of the anti-French colonial uprising in South Vietnam and is remembered for his famous quote, โ€œOnly when all the grass in Vietnam has been pulled out then only will there be no Vietnamese person to fight the aggressors.โ€

The festival includes various cultural activities from September 28 to 30, such as a parade, kylin and dragon dances, exhibitions, food fairs, folk games and other ceremonial offerings that will take place throughout the city.

The event is expected to attract more than 800,000 visitors.
